Industrias Peñoles es una empresa que forma parte de Grupo BAL líder en el sector minero, metalúrgico y químico de México. Actualmente es el mayor productor mundial de plata afinada, bismuto metálico y sulfato de sodio, y líder latinoamericano en la producción de oro, plomo y zinc afinados.
En su contante proceso de crecimiento y renovación, Industrias Peñoles requería actualizar la versión de su aplicación PeopleSoft conservando los desarrollos realizados desde que la misma fue implementada por primera vez.
Desde el noviembre del 2004 donde se realizó la última actualización del ERP de Finanzas, el producto no había sido actualizado a nuevas versiones, lo cual ocasiono que tecnológicamente no se aprovecharan todas las ventajas que el producto ha estado realizando en sus siguientes versiones.
Derivado de lo anterior y a la necesidad de que el ERP de PeopleSoft Finanzas quede obsoleto por la falta de soporte, se requería realizar una actualización tecnológica que viene contenida en la nueva versión, la cual también se desea para aprovechar las nuevas funcionalidades y para apoyar los procesos de negocios actuales y disminuir la cantidad de customizaciónes (cambios al producto) realizadas.
Así, con el apoyo de Quanam, la empresa migro exitosamente los módulos de Finanzas PeopleSoft de la versión anterior 8.4 a la versión 9.1
Dicha migración contempló los tools del ERP de Finanzas PeopleSoft de la versión actual 8.45.17 a la versión 8.51, Incluyendo migración de Base de Datos a Oracle 11g asi como la depuración de las más de 400 customizaciones (considerando gaps de procesos, reportes, consultas).

Peñoles is a company of BAL Group, a leader in the mining, metallurgical and chemical industries based in Mexico. It is currently the world's largest producer of refined silver, metallic bismuth and sodium sulfate, as well as the Latin American leader in gold production, refined lead and zinc.
As part of its constant growth and renewal process, Peñoles needed to upgrade its PeopleSoft application version, however keeping the developments made since it was first implemented.
Since November 2004, when the last update was performed on ERP Finance, the product had not been updated to new versions. Therefore, the technological advantages made on the product ever since, have not been performed.
Consequently, and in order to prevent PeopleSoft ERP Finance from becoming obsolete due to lack of support, a technological update was required to be performed by means of the new version, which also features new functions and provides support to current business processes and reduces the amount of customizations (changes to be made to the product).
Teamed with Quanam’s support, the company successfully migrated PeopleSoft Finance modules from version 8.4 to version 9.1.
This migration moved PeopleSoft ERP Finance tools from version 8.45.17 to version 8.51, including Database migration to Oracle 11g, as well as the purification of over 400 customizations (considering processes’ gaps, reports, queries).
