I'm rather intrigued by this name of a group הצ'יזבטרון:

I don't know if it has a meaning exactly, but could you please enlighten me as to its pronunciation and origin?
All the best, and many thanks,

השם 'צ'יזבטרון' שילב בין המילים 'צ'יזבט', כלומר סיפור משעשע, ו'רון' כלומר שיר
as they say 'ron' is a song while 'צ'יזבט ' means a concoction (an
Arabic word).
Defintion from the Even Shoshan dictionary.

Chizbatron is another way of spelling it, as Boostrer. Just like Bercovici in Romanian became suddenly Bertowitz in the USA.

The origins of the IDF's military bands begin with the troupe called "Mi Ein Ze" ('From Where is That'), which entertained the Jewish soldiers of the Jewish Brigade during the Second World War. That band was succeeded by the "Chizbatron" troupe of the Palmach, which existed during the period of the War of Independence.
