I'm translating the programme for a conference on information security in Europe intended for companies. This is the title of one of the talks. I'm not entirely sure what they mean by "la désidentité". I was going to translate this as "and the right to remain anonymous/unidentified", but then I thought... why don't they just use "rester anonyme" in French? ...I suspect I might not be on the right track with my translation and would appreciate any clarification/confirmation.

I've seen "disidentification" (non-identification) used before in English, but it's not a proper word.
This is about not revealing one's identity, which makes a lot sense in the age of the internet.
I think that "anonymity" works fine for a title.

I don't disagree with "anonymity" -- really just suggesting another option, which maybe portrays slightly more the notion of "actively" protecting one's identity which I think is more the sense here.

There are quite a few references to identité/désidentité numérique on the web and the English equivalent would appear to be identity/non-identity.

: on the limited context we have, I would incline to this option too, as it retains the ambiguous resonances with mathematics/logic as well as the notion of anonymity
