shelf tag

This is the term preferred by a regular client of mine.

Definition found on the Web:

What is a Shelf Tag?

Definition: A Shelf Tag is a tag or sticker with merchandising information of what belongs in that place on the shelf or hook in the planogram or display.

Also Known As: Bin tags, bin labels, peg tags, shelf labels, planogram tags.

General Use: Shelf tags aid in the proper placement of product and frequently include price information for customers in lieu of price marking the individual items.

Peer comment(s):

agree Jane Lamb-Ruiz (X) : yes..shelf tags....in France, they use little flags sometimes..right?

neutral Bourth (X) : Need not project from the shelving as the Duvillier&Grüber definition suggests.

Not sure about TG - any context?
Peer comment(s):

neutral Bourth (X) : shelf talker = "étiquette promotionnelle de gondole" for Duvillier&Grüber, i.e. not (necessarily) perpendicular to shelving, as the images on your site also suggest.

I can't claim to be an expert on these! But they seem to come in all sorts of forms (as do 'stop rayons').
