I think it would be nice to meet other translators, interpreters, and 'language people' living in and around Brighton. If anyone is interested, please let me know!

my suggestion is to set a date a few weeks in advance by creating a Powwow in the "Propose new Powwow" section, this will give interested attendees time enough time to register and to spread the word!

You can then submit a powwow promotion request. To do so click on the "Request promotional email" link at the top of the page of the powwow you are organizing. This will lead you to the page where you can submit your promotion request together with a sample text you can use for the invitation. Note: this feature is only available to powwow organizers ( http://www.proz.com/faq/53944#53944 )
Powwows can also be promoted on Social Networks such as Twitter and Facebook by clicking on the buttons at the top of each powwow page.

I wanted to get a rough idea of how many people would be interested before setting a date.
Incidentally, is it possible to create a Proz Powwow without setting a date? I think that it would be better to create it first, and then agree on a date and location together with any interested people.

Hello Michael,
I believe it is necessary to set a preliminary date (which can subsequently be changed).
Actually, I think that it might be more difficult to take each individual participant's availability into account before establishing a date. That's why I suggested you set a date first, and then progress from there...once you have a list of interested attendees.

OK, I have set a date, and decided on a possible venue:
Saturday 29 September, @ Cafe Delicé, in Brighton’s North Laines.
I created the Powwow event and am currently waiting for Proz staff to OK it.
