French to English: Alessandro Michele- source text by Jeanne Garnier for TTT Magazine General field: Marketing Detailed field: Textiles / Clothing / Fashion
Translation - English Alessandro Michele has brought a touch of light-hearted romanticism to all of this doom and gloom. Giannini’s chic glamour has been eschewed in favour of '70s style extravagance, where half-measures don’t exist: the collections are buzzing with lavish prints, dazzling colours and tones, and rich narratives. Alessandro Michele’s style is perhaps best described as disco meets The Virgin Suicides: the lace blouses, playful transparency, maxi glasses, flared trousers, embroidered furs and tapestry-inspired patterns have quickly become his signature looks.
French to English: Rio de Janeiro- Source text from TTT Magazine General field: Marketing Detailed field: Tourism & Travel
Translation - English The popular artists’ quarter of Santa Teresa is hidden away amongst the hills of central Rio de Janeiro. The stunning views of the bay, colourful graffitied walls, mosaic covered parks, and tram line all contribute to the bohemian atmosphere and charm for which the area is renowned. Tucked away amongst the labyrinth of narrow streets lies one of the best and most unique eateries of the area. The Aprazivel, owned by chef Ana Castilho, was initially a temporary venture, but has now established itself as a well-known address in Rio. The setting feels as if you're in the middle of the jungle and the Brazilian cuisine is organic, creative and contemporary. The faultless service, mix of rustic and modern furniture, and breath-taking views all make Aprazivel a place to visit and share.

Experience
Years of experience: 7. Registered at ProZ.com: Mar 2016.
Born in London and raised in the South of France, close to the Spanish border, multilingualism has always been a major part of my life. After completing my French Baccalaureate, I returned to the UK to study for a Bachelor’s degree in Interpreting & Translating (English/ French/ Spanish).
Shortly after graduating with honours of the First Class, I began to gain professional experience by working on various projects for a translation agency, in the fields of tourism, travel and marketing. I have also produced a series of translations on a voluntary basis for a French luxury fashion magazine, which provided me with valuable insight into the world of fashion, clothing and textiles. In my spare time, I also volunteer as a subtitler for TEDtalks.
My linguistic skills, paired with the cultural awareness and knowledge I have acquired from living in the countries of each of my working languages, enable me to produce top quality, accurate translations that truly convey the original message.
“Translation is not a matter of words only: it is a matter of making intelligible a whole culture.” - Anthony Burgess
