Buffalo Games, the makers of multiple award-winning party games and one of Orlando Game Night Meetup’s sponsors, has launched their newest party game, Truth Be Told, in six select markets: Buffalo, Chicago, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Phoenix and St. Louis. We were very lucky to obtain a few copies before the national rollout date in January 2010.
The Orlando Game Night group held one of its biggest meetups, The Ginormous Game Night, recently and many of our members wanted to play this game. Truth Be Told is a fun party game where you score points on questions about other players either by guessing the True Answer, or by fooling others into guessing your Bluff Answer.
To play the game a different player gets to be the Host per round. The Host draws a card that might say: Truth Be Told, I don’t like dealing with ________. The Host then takes a dry erase Fill in the Blank board and writes her answer, while the other players try to answer in such a way that it fools others into guessing their Bluff Answers.
When everyone has written an answer the Fill in the Blank boards are passed back to the Host who checks to make sure there are no duplicates before reading the answers aloud. This is where the little paddles come into play as players now VOTE to guess the True Answer.
When my husband and I played with some friends, we thought it was easy to play, to score and to have fun with. The dry erase boards are an awesome alternative to wasting paper, but we wished some erasers/sponges had been included so we didn’t have to resort to tissues or sleeves.
Other members of the Meetup group had a slightly more difficult time understanding the directions at first, but after a trial run they discovered that it wasn’t difficult at all and had a great time.
We all recommend this as an awesome game to have at hand for the whole family to enjoy (it says ages 12 but I’m pretty sure that kids would like it as long as they know how to write). We’re glad we received this one as a sample.

I am a native speaker of both English and South American Spanish. I spent my childhood attending a high quality private school in Paraguay and spent my teens and adulthood in the U.S. where attended very academically strong institutions.
I have over fifteen years experience translating and interpreting in both formal and informal settings. My most recent experience has been gained while working as a Head Start home visitor and Child Care Partnership Coordinator during which time a high percentage of my clients were Mexican immigrants. Much of my experience was gained as part of my career as a teacher and assistant director of a private school, while the rest was through unpaid volunteer jobs. I was also a Teaching Assistant to a Colombian Professor while in college, and my duties included translating his book manuscripts and articles from Spanish into English, as well as proof reading them to make them ready for publication.
My practical experience has been with academic writing, promotional brochures, newsletters, manuscripts, websites, medical texts, and legal documents. My focus has been interpretation in an academic setting, with many parent/teacher conferences, workshops, and outreach programs. I also have experience giving workshops about Paraguayan culture, history and music at local schools and diversity training for child care staff.
