Indonesian term

...sejauh mana hasil atas pekerjaan itu sendiri.

Indonesian to English Bus/Financial Management From a corporate affairs slideshow for manager training
"Yang terpenting intropeksi [sic] diri, sejauh mana hasil atas pekerjaan itu sendiri. Apakah sudah mencapai hasil yang baik atau belum."

I'm having trouble with the "atas" here. Is it saying "The most important thing is the ability to be introspective: what is the actual outcome achieved from the work so far? Has a good outcome been achieved yet or not?"

Any ideas woud be gratefully appreciated.

...to what extent the outcome of the work itself is.

In Alan M. Stevens' comprehensive Indonesian-English Dictionary, 'sampai sejauh mana' is 'to what extent'. 'sampai sejauh mana' is shortened to 'sejauh mana' in the given sentence.

In this context, 'atas' is 'of'.

To what extent does doing the job itself provide you with information about your work performance? That is, does the actual work itself provide clues about how well you are doing—aside from any feedback co-workers or supervisors may provide?

What our study does is it provides reassurances to women and to some extent employers that work itself is not causing these poor birth outcomes.

... how far the outcome of the work is.

'Sejauh mana' or 'seberapa jauh' is obviously literally translated from 'how far'. Meanwhile, 'sendiri' can be just left untranslated.

Indonesian term (edited): sejauh mana hasil atas pekerjaan itu sendiri

how good the results of the work are

The adjective referred to by sejauh mana can be quantity (=how much/many/far/long/big/...) or quality (=how good/fine/satisfactory/...).

As the second sentence says: hasil yang baik atau belum, the phrase must then refer to quality. My take for the whole text is:

Of the utmost importance is introspection into how good the results of the work are. That is, whether these have been good already.

how good are the outcomes of the work so far?

Imho, following the writing/translation style of the asker.
