avvitatore a massa battente
Anche a me sembra vengano spesso usati come sinonimi, ma non sono certa che siano sinonimi perfetti. Dal momento che esiste "impulse driver" in inglese ma viene preferito il temrine "impact driver" io mi atterrei a "a massa battente", forse si vuole sottolineare il meccanismo di base.
Alla pagina 33 di questo link c'è una buona descrizione del funzionamento, fondamentalmente il meccanismo della massa battente crea gli 'impulsi' necessari per svitare un bullone diffcile.
