I would have thought you'd save the word "images" for what the software *produces* from the series of raw tomographic projection data sets. Isn't that what it's all about?

I keep going back to "raw tilt series" This seems to crop up a fair amount in this very context. I just can't see an obvious link, that's all, or a reason to drop the "raw projections". Maybe someone specialising in this area can??!

(series of) raw projections

I don't know anything about this technology (hence the 3), but I thought I'd hazard a suggestion. You could leave out the "series of".
