French term

dispositif de l'accompagnement de l'action

French to English Social Sciences International Org/Dev/Coop
Voici la phrase:

"Ce fonds servira à financer les équipements, les fonds de roulement, ainsi que le dispositif d’accompagnement de l’action."
>
"This fund will be used to finance the equipment, operational expenses, and _____________________."

Je comprends chaque mot, mais pas le sens entier de la dernière partie. Vos idées?

writeaway Jun 7, 2006:
the reason so few people answered is because it's late over here and people are tired after a day's work. and on your side, they're probably busy working. impatience doesn't always pay off with Kudoz. ;-)
Jennifer Gal (asker) Jun 7, 2006:
Sorry Icetrance - but glad you're laughin'! The answer proposed fit the context quite well, and there was a paucity of responses, so I just moved on. But I'm still open to your input, and I imagine the other answerer is as well :) Thanks for commenting. -JG

You should not have closed this question so quickly. I'm not sure this is an appropriate answer. I will still get back to you on this. LOL

accompanying personnel

"Dispositif" is people. Some people are going to do something; they need people to guide them or help them. They are going to do "the action" and the other people maybe local) will help them get inot position to do it.

Best I can do without a little more.
Note from asker:
That helps. I was stuck on "dispositif" as device or mechanism (fig.), "action" doesn't have a clear predecessor in the text, etc. etc. I can take it from here. Thanks so much, Jeffrey!!
Peer comment(s):

neutral MatthewLaSon : Literally, "means to help carry out the action" is the meaning. The problem is how to put this into English. "Dispositif" is not "personnel", although they may be part of the "dispositif". Good thinking, though!

neutral Sara Freitas : I would use support or logistics...More context would help...cute pupster by the way!
