long slip ensemble/set, full slip ensemble/set

Two French sites where you can see what one is :

http://www.aufeminin.com/shopping/couple/dossiers/lingerieco...

http://www.lingerie-carrade.fr/selection.htm

And a couple of English-language sites for the same product to compare :

www.silk-stockings.co.uk/chantily_lingerie.htm

If it’s long and not too flared, straight or A-line, then it may be described as a “slip” (watch out for the false friend, as a “slip” in French is of course the knickers/pants/underpants – depending on where you come from). If it’s shortish and flared, then it may even be a “baby-doll”. In either case, if there’s are pants with it, then you would say “slip ensemble”, “babydoll set”, or similar.

As to length, a “combinette” appears to be long, but not ankle-length. In that case, I would go for “long slip (ensemble/set)”, a “full-length” one being ankle-length.

I suspect that what this is called may vary from country to country anyway!

un "body"

Obviously not a specialist, but I think it is a ravishing piece of nothing, combining top and...under.Could be a lace-body, or satin or silk one!
Peer comment(s):

disagree Nikki Scott-Despaigne : A "bodysuit" is a bit like a swimming costume, an all-in-one pants and top thing. A "combinette" is a flimsy short dress thing you wear under a dress - with matching undies. There you are Pierre, now you know!

slup and panties

'Tis a guess, but the link below shows a combinette from its online catalog. Perhaps a more thourough search via beaucoup.com would help you further.

camisole (sp?) and panties

Oops! I meant "slip," but perhaps "camisole" would be more accurate! It wouldn't let me add a note!

Regards.
Peer comment(s):

disagree Nikki Scott-Despaigne : A camisole top (as the GB understand it) stops at the waist, whereas the "combinette" is like a short dress + undies.
