Dear colleagues,
As announced in this thread, I conducted a survey on pro bono / voluntary translations. My motivation was to understand translators' approach to free work, and to see how they draw the line between acceptable and unacceptable.
Over 160 people took the survey, leaving a lot of insightful comments. I could compile a 54-page report, which is now available at http://www.pirothattila.com/PB_Survey.pdf . I hope it will help many colleagues establish their own criteria for deciding what kind of texts (if any), for whom and under what conditions they are comfortable translating for free.
Feel free to share share the link with anyone who can be interested. I will appreciate feedback and comments.
