Looks simple enough, no more context, it's a widespread 'quote', I've no idea who said it.
My problem is that 'seamos'; 1st person plural imperative. I'm thinking we shall be but it doesn't have much of a ring to it.

Thanks Jenni. I was gonna use "great artists" originally, but found it too wordy. Looking at it again, I think I would put it: "If sport is an art, then let us be masters"

Thanks Lucy - I just think 'great' is extra, somehow. Dunno, I just like the balanace of 5 words either side of the comma/semicolon (my last suggestion), but maybe that's just me being a bit of a freak, lol :-)

: Yes to your second version with "then". I´d be tempted to use "Grand Masters" because Grand Master conveys the idea of excellence in both art and sport (martial arts, chess), BUT I also agree with your 5-word balance idea! :)

Thank you. It's good to know I'm not the only symmetry freak out there :-) Yeah, I thought of "grand masters" too, but again, a bit extra somehow. Dunno, 'masters' is sufficient, I think. I'm assuming some Spaniard said this before Spain won the WC...?
