Mr. Chris Turnbull from the Australian Tax Office will give a 40-minute general presentation on tax issues. He will be able to refer attendees to more detailed information if needed. He cannot give specific case-by-case advice.
Attendees are invited to ask questions. For example:
On Call has been ordered to treat all their interpreters as employees in regard to superannuation. From the ATO’s point of view, should all interpreting agencies do the same?
As a translator who sometimes delivers documents to clients, can I claim motor vehicle expenses as a deduction?
If you have any questions you would like to ask, you will get a better quality answer by sending them in advance to the Secretary, AUSIT WA (Jean Deklerk [email protected]), to be passed on to Chris Turnbull.
PAYMENT
Please pay by direct bank transfer to the AUSIT WA account, as below. This is the optimal and most streamlined payment method.
