Spanish term

es de contexto

Spanish to English Social Sciences Mathematics & Statistics Administrative datasets
This phrase is from a self-assessment questionnaire for personnel working with administrative datasets. I'm guessing that the phrase means 'for contextual purposes only' or something like that. Any better ideas?

Calcular, para las principales variables cuantitativas cuál es su desvío estándar. Esta información **es de contexto** y no se utiliza para el cálculo de indicadores de la calidad de la herramienta.

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (2): Neil Ashby, DLyons

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

this is informational only

A standard way of phrasing this. Both your own version and TravellingTrans' are also fine.

"This information is (purely) contextual"

is for context

basically I think you are correct, so this is how I would read it and phrase it. First calculate the standard deviation, this information "is for context" and is not used for...

seems pretty straightforward

hope that helps

to provide context

My suggestion would be:

"This information is used to [merely] provide context and not ..."

Or some thing similar.

Make the verb "to use" cover both clauses of the sentence.

for comparative purposes

The SD/This data is used for comparative purposes and not.....

Also, you could say "The SD/This data is used as reference/background material and not....
