: 1. pleonazm 2. moment j.w. / You are a native speaker of English, so probably it makes no difference to you, but at Polish technical universities "moment czasowy" is a joke / http://redinpe.d2.pl/attachments/article/126/czas_i_pojecia_...

Moment of a force and moment in time are completely different concepts.

: "Moment czasowy" is perfectly OK. It is widely used in literature. See: www.sgh.waw.pl/prywatne/tompa/materialy/.../Szeregi_czasowe...

: Please take a look when moment is used in similar contexts: http://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moment | Polish "moment" is English "moment" (=point in time) only in common usage. In technical/scientific texts, it mustn't be used as a time-related word.

Now you've lost me :-) Arent't you saying above this relates to time? The other uses of "moment" have NO relation to time.

: The "moment of time" is a term used in common language, both in english and in polish. This answer is based on the common phrase and is incorrect.

Thanks Adrian. You'll see "moment of time" used technically in English (although it shouldn't be).

czyli: punkty na osi czasu.

BTW:
autor mógłby użyć określenia 'time points", bo o to chodzi.
Patrz np.:
A time-point is a point in real, historical time (on earth). It is independent of observer and context. A time-point is not a measurement of time, nor is it a specification of time. It is the point in time. The time-points at which events occur can be known with various degrees of precision and approximation, but conceptually time-points are point-like and not interval-like. That is, it doesn't make sense to talk about what happens during a time-point, or how long the time-point lasts.

Enjoy!
In English this doesn't look well either, "moment of time". I'd say that we measured something "at time ti" and this should work just fine, I guess. But we would need some interaction with the Asker to figure out what is the source actually.
Which language direction is this question? If it's really into Polish, then I'm not competent to answer. But when I answered my impression was that it essentially was an En->EN question as to what "moment of time" really meant and I put that into my answer (I just threw the Polish phrase in because it already was in ProZ).
Yes, I agree, and that's what I'm saying in my answer below.
But I'm no longer clear which direction this question is in :-(
Moment bezwładności
Moment elektromagnetyczny
Moment gnący
Moment pędu
Moment siły
Moment skręcający
W statystyce:
Moment zwykły
Moment centralny
„W języku potocznym dla określenia czasu trwania nieskończenie krótkiego używa się czasem słowa „moment" (por. niemiecki przymiotnik „momentan"), ale ani w terminologii fizycznej ani technicznej „moment czasu" a tym bardziej samo „moment" wydają się nie na miejscu.”
Panowie, to nie jest moje „widzimisię”.
Dbajmy o poprawność języka technicznego nie opierając się na ilości trafień w google.
