neutral  Jennifer Levey: I imagine neilmac is referring to me, so here goes... Your translation 'might' be OK in a 21st century timeframe, but Asker's ST more likely refers to the 'queer scene' in AR (BA, probably) at least 50 years ago. IOW, we lack context.
