Discussion

Kevin Oheix Jun 28, 2018:
Checked off (removed from list, verified). "Je l'ai pointé point par point" = "I checked it off point by point".
claude-andrew (asker) Jun 28, 2018:
Thanks - I agree with "leur" (if only that were the only mistake in the French!). I'll use "checked off" rather than "ticked off" which also has the meaning of reprimanded!
ph-b (X) Jun 28, 2018:
Agree with Marco It should be leur.
ph-b (X) Jun 28, 2018:
ticked off ? tick somethin off: to mark the things on a list with a tick to show that they have been dealt with (Longman)
Marco Solinas Jun 28, 2018:
Leur I think it should be "leur réception" rather than "sa réception". I also think that it means that when the articles are received, a check mark should ne entered in the journal, to record the reception of the article.

to register the date and time

I have found a few examples on the net of this requirement for the delivery of packages, and one definition (below). It seems to be the registration of date and time of delivery.
Example sentence:

"The books must record the date and time of delivery of each package."

Note from asker:
Thanks for your research Anita. It's true that "pointer" can mean "to clock in" (for employees). I'm not sure though that time and date are involved here, but rather simply acknowledging that the articles have been collected. But I will check with the client.
