Explanation:
... to cover all likely sorts of radio in the absence of more context. Maybe "radio housing", or "phone housing" if it's just about personal mobile phones, could be more appropriate.

radio set

Explanation:
Jonathan is right in that «boîtier» is the case, but I think in context it may be as idiomatic to refer to the whole device as a "radio set" -- a little more context might make it clearer

neutral  Tony M: I'm not sure, 'set' makes me rather think of a 'wireless set' — and it's not quite the same context as a 'generating set'... / No criticism, I know just what you mean!

-> With hindsight - and more context since then - I agree (-ish), Tony; this was a first step in the collective lurch, stagger & fumble towards an answer!

agree  Tony M: Yes, 'boîtier' is very often used in this way to mean a 'unit' or 'module', without specific reference to just the housing it is in

perhaps "radio casing" is better, as googles of "radio case" often seem to imply a plastic or leather protective "sleave"

"handsets" if these are in fact mobile phones

Notes to answerer
Asker: Hi! Is "cases" better than "boxes" ?...

neutral  Tony M: I don't believe here it refers to JUST the housings // Indeed, no — but I come across this term very often used like this, and it makes most sense, technically

radio casings

Explanation:
In electronics we term 'boitiers' as casing. It is a very popular word used in electronics to refer to the box that contains all the electronics and the antenna is required to be fixed to this box, this is why a specific mechanical design is required for the antenna to fit to the casing.

radio receiver

Explanation:
Starting with simple radio receivers for model racing cars, we get:

"A radio-controlled car (R/C car) is a powered model car driven from a distance using a radio control system. Inputs from joysticks (or a wheel and a trigger) on a transmitter are sent to the car's onboard receiver"

Many are listening to iPods and MP3 players, using radio only to "receive" the music they record for personal use.

Some radio receivers are external devices to the music players (sometimes called "jukeboxes").

Here's a little internet dialogue/exchange comparing such "radio receivers":

Code division multiple access (CDMA) is a form of multiplexing and a method of multiple access that divides up a radio channel not by time (as in time division multiple access), nor by frequency (as in frequency-division multiple access), but instead by using different pseudo-random code sequences for each user.

(EN) The invention concerns a combined radio telephone handset comprising, in a housing (1), one part (8) including, between two front face (22) and rear face (23) portions of the housing (1), a loudspeaker (11) from which projects, by an external protuberance (21) of the projection, an antenna (20) which extends sloping from the front (22) towards the rear (23), substantially to the perpendicular (33) of the rear face (23) portion.

neutral  Tony M: The trouble is, Robert, these things are much more likely to be radio TRANSceivers (whether at the punter end or the s/provider end), so 'receiver' could amount to over-translation / I think so!
