قبل أن نبدأ الحديث عن التسويق وعن ماهية التسويق وأنشطته الأساسية نريد أن نوضح بعض من المفاهيم الأساسية و التي لا بد من أي مهتم بمجال التسويق أن يعرفها . إن التسويق لا يعني أشياء كثيرة :
التسويق لا يعني الإعلان : يقول فيليب كوتلر في كتابه (كوتلر يتحدث عن التسويق ) "من أكثر أنواع البلبلة شيوعا ً هي النظرة إلى التسويق و البيع على أنهما شيء واحد ،وليس هذه نظرة الكثيرين من عامة الناس بل نظرة العديد من رجال الأعمال ،إن البيع جزء من التسويق غير أن التسويق يشمل أشياء أكث من البيع" ويمكننا أن نشبه البيع على أنه القشرة الخارجية للتسويق.
Translation - English Marketing is considered as a global activity, which is directly linked to the interest of clients, in order to develop various products and services in a short and efficient period of time.
However, before we start discussing marketing, we should review the most important concepts in order to pin-point the main ideas of the marketing philosophy.
1) Marketing does not mean advertising. In his book, Philip Kotler said, “Among the most common misconceptions is that marketing and buying are the same thing. This point of view is not only shared by most people but it is shared particularly by a large class of businessmen.
2) Selling is a small part of marketing because marketing is more global. As a conclusion and in order to differentiate between these two aspects, one can say that buying is the external aspect of marketing.
