Lampang has 4 important era which have changed through the role of people in each era that has led the country to develop to become Lampang
- Khon Lua In the early days, Lampang was shaped like a conch shell. Like other cities of the same era, according to the belief of the Indian civilization, the conch is the symbol of the highest prosperity. How long before the city was built, there was a community in Lampang, it is unclear. But building the first city has changed the community to be more urban. There is an earthen ditch surrounded by a three-tiered area, with city gates in different directions. There is a road leading to the city and there is an irrigation system, and in this era, the Lavo civilization has come into Lampang according to the leaders who came to rule. This caused the Hinayana Buddhism to be propagated in Lampang for the first time. Therefore, many temples were built and in those day it was assumed that the center of the city was Wat Phra Kaeo Don Tao, along the Wang River. This was an important turning point in Lampang over 1,300 years ago.

It is assumed that the city center in this era was at Wat Chiang Phum or Wat Pong Sanuk in the present. When Lampang in that era was considered an important strategic city of Lanna. This made Lanna has more bargaining power and influence and wealth than any other city. This was one of the major turning points of Lampang over 700 years ago.
