Como mencionado anteriormente, a Nano foi projetada para superar problemas de escalabilidade que afetavam criptomoedas populares como o Bitcoin, portanto apresentando transações sem custos e imediatas. A Nano atinge seu propósito empregando uma estrutura de dados diferente da blockchain, utilizada pelo Bitcoin, para registrar transações criptograficamente.
A blockchain no protocolo do Bitcoin pode ser definida como:
“[…] um registro distribuído no qual as transferências de propriedade de recursos podem ser registradas, eliminando, portanto, o problema de ter um ponto central de falha. Os dados distribuídos entre os usuários são criptograficamente autenticados, o que torna difícil a adulteração das informações armazenadas” (BOWIN; JOHANSSON, p. 6, 2018, tradução nossa).
Nesse sentido, a blockchain é um registro global, público e imutável que registra “todas as transações verificadas e válidas entre os usuários da rede (GLASER et al., 2014, p. 2, tradução nossa). Por fim, resumindo, a maior diferença entre a estrutura de dados do GAD e da blockchain é que a segunda permite que apenas uma cadeia de blocos exista enquanto o GAD possibilita múltiplas cadeias coexistentes, o que resulta na maior escalabilidade dessa estrutura (ZWANENBURG, 2018).
Translation - English HOW NANO WORKS
As previously mentioned, Nano was designed to surpass scalability issues affecting popular cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, thus offering instant and zero-fee transactions. Nano achieves its objective by using a different data structure than Bitcoin’s blockchain to cryptographically record transactions.
The blockchain in Bitcoin protocol may be defined as
“[…] a distributed ledger in which transfers of resource ownership can be
recorded and therefore it removes the problem of having a central point of
failure. The data distributed among users is cryptographically authenticated,
which makes it difficult to tamper with the stored information” (BOWIN; JOHANSSON, p. 6, 2018).
In that sense, blockchain is a global, public, immutable ledger that records “all verified and valid transactions between users of the network” (GLASER et al., 2014, p. 2). Literally, the term blockchain alludes to the fact that it is a chain of blocks. In this context, block refers to transaction.
In spite of blockchain innovative solution, it suffers from known scalability and practicality issues such as a limit of seven transactions per second, the increase of transactions’ confirmation time as the number of transactions increase, and a not

sustainable power-consuming network (BOWIN; JOHANSSON, 2018). Nano’s solution for these limitations relies on an alternative data structure called Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG), which also enables a cryptographic and immutable ledger while improving network lightness and speed. As Zwanenburg (2018) explains, in DAG, the term graph refers to a network of connected blocks, in which data – in Nano’s case, a
transaction – is transmitted acyclically through these blocks, and the term directed refers to the direction given to the data flow.
Hence, the DAG data structure consists of multiple chains of blocks and the directed-data ensures that it flows through blocks acyclically enabling the chains to coexist.
On the other hand, the blockchain structure consists of connected blocks as the data is transmitted linearly through a single chain of blocks (represented by the bottom line of circles). Moreover, in Blockchain structure, when a single transaction is confirmed more than once simultaneously in the network, a branched chain of blocks is created. As this data structure does not enable multiple chains to coexist, a period of time is necessary for the network to reach consensus on which chain has to be terminated and which one continues as the main chain.
To summarize, the major difference between these two data structures is that blockchain only allows a single chain of blocks to exist while DAG allows multiple coexisting chains, which results in DAG’s larger scalability (ZWANENBURG, 2018).

(1) What is FlashQ?
FlashQ is a user friendly Flash application for performing Q-Sorts online. FlashQ can handle all kinds of distribution and as many statments as you want. For more information about the underlying Q Methodology please visit our bibliography.
(2) Does FlashQ support other languages?
Yes, FlashQ supports other languages. Each phrase or sentence used in FlashQ is stored in external XML-files, which can be edited with any text editor like notepad.
(3) What are the requirements for FlashQ?
The requirements depend on the operating mode. If you are using FlashQ in the offline mode, the user needs a PC with an internet connection, an offline version of FlashQ and an e-mail program like Microsoft Outlook. The data is submitted via email, which is created by the user's e-mail program. A web-based e-mail service like Hotmail or Gmail does not work.
The online mode is a little bit more difficult to set up, but much more convenient for the user. For using FlashQ in the online mode, you need a web server with PHP, to which FlashQ must be uploaded. The key advantage of this concept is that the user only needs a web browser to take part in your survey. The data is submitted to the web server, which either creates an e-mail or writes the data directly to a database or text-file.
The PHP-backend can be downloaded from this site. A step-by-step installation wizard will be available soon.
If you are familiar with programming, FlashQ can also be operated in a hybrid mode or with other server based languages like ASP.
(4) How do I set up FlashQ?
To set up your own survey, you have to customize FlashQ first, which is quite easy and does not require any programming skills. After downloading your own copy of FlashQ you'll find four XML-files in a folder called "settings". In order to adjust the help texts, to add statements or to modify the layout of the score sheet, just edit these XML-files with a text editor like notepad. Do not use Microsoft Word.

This is the place for your statements. The maximum number of statements is theoretically unlimited, but less than 50 is advisable.

The next step depends on the operating mode. If your are using the offline version of FlashQ, it's advisable to zip all files including the subfolders and the main exe-file. The created zip-file can be send afterwards via email to the participants. If you using the online version of Flash, you have to upload all files including the subfolders onto your server via FTP.

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed including the following:
● Read all instructions, including these important safeguards and the care and use instructions in this manual.
● Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
● The use of accessory attachments, including canning jars, not recommended by West Bend® Housewares may cause injuries.
● Do not operate if the blender is not working properly or if it has been damaged in any manner. For service information see warranty page.
● Do not leave unit unattended while plugged into an electrical outlet.
● Keep hands and utensils out of the blender jar while blending to reduce the risk of severe injury to persons or damage to the blender. A scraper may be used but must be used only when the blender is unplugged and not in operation.
● Do not attempt to repair this appliance yourself.
● For household use only.
OPERATING PRECAUTIONS
● Blades are sharp. Use extreme caution during assembly, while operating, disassembly and cleaning.
● Do not use if blades are broken, cracked or loose.
● Always operate blender with cover in place.
● Always hold container while processing for stability.
● Do not leave blender unattended while it is operating.
● Do not remove jar from base until the motor has stopped completely.
● Do not use a cracked, chipped or broken jar.
● When blending hot liquids, remove centerpiece of two-piece cover.

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE AROUND CHILDREN
● Always supervise children.
● Do not allow children to operate or be near the Blender, as the mechanical operation can cause a hazard.
● Do not allow cord to hang over any edge where a child can reach it. Arrange cord to avoid pulling, tripping or entanglement.
GLASS JAR PRECAUTIONS
● The jar is designed for use with this appliance only. Do not use the jar provided with this appliance for any other appliance or application.
● Do not place jar on hot surface or in a heated oven.
● Use caution when cleaning jar with blades assembled. Wipe exterior with damp cloth, and only rinse interior. If necessary to clean inside of jar, disassemble and clean following the instructions in the assembly and cleaning sections of this manual.
● Do not use a cracked jar or a jar having a loose or weakened cutting blade retainer.
● Do not clean jar with cleansers, steel wool pads, or other abrasive materials.
Assembling Your Blender
Before assembling your blender wash all loose parts in warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly and dry.
(Cover Centerpiece, Cover, Jar, Blade, Base Unit, Control Knob, Rubber Seal, Jar Locking Base)
Using Your Blender
1. Place appliance on dry, level, heat-resistant surface, away from any edge. NOTE: Do not operate blender where dust or flour can be sucked up into the vent openings, as this will cause damage to the blender.
2. Plug cord into a 120 volt AC electric outlet only.
3. Put liquids into the blender first unless recipes call for an alternate processing sequence.
4. Prepare ingredients for blending. Cut all solid ingredients, i.e. fruits, vegetables, or cheeses or meats into uniform pieces, ½ to 1-inch cubes. Place cover on blender. NOTE: Always place one hand on jar or jar cover to steady blender while operating.
5. Blend foods according to the recipe or until the desired results are achieved. NOTE: If scraping or stirring of contents is required, turn blender to the “off” position and unplug from electrical outlet. Use only a flexible spatula so scratching of glass does not occur.
• A small amount of odor may occur during operation due to the release of manufacturing oils – this is normal.
Crushing Ice
1. Fill blender jar with approximately 2-cups of water. Add desired amount of ice cubes.
2. Cover the jar with the jar cover and insert the cover centerpiece.
3. When crushing ice, hold blender stable with the palm of your hand over the complete cover. Turn speed control to PULSE for 1 second and release. Pause for approximately 2-sconds and repeat the 1-second PULSING until ice is crushed to desired consistency.
4. Drain off any excess water.
HINT: approximately 12 cubes (2-cups) of ice make for a slush consistency.
Cleaning Your Blender
1. Switch blender to “OFF” position and unplug from electrical outlet.
2. Wipe blender base, control knob, and cord with a damp cloth or sponge. To remove stubborn spots, use a mild, non-abrasive cleanser.
3. To clean jar, unscrew jar-locking base and remove cutting unit assembly from jar. Remove blades and gasket from bottom of jar locking base. Carefully wash blades, jar locking base, gasket, jar and cover in hot soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly. NOTE: the glass jar may be washed in an automatic dishwasher. Do not wash blades; jar locking base, gasket or lid in a dishwasher.
1. Reassemble cutting unit assembly onto jar and replace jar onto blender base.
2. Store blender with lid ajar to prevent container odor.
Blade Assembly
1. Position rubber seal to fit onto groove of blade assembly.
2. Drop assembly into jar locking base, centering and locating inside of tabs.
3. Screw jar-locking base with blade assembly onto jar.
Helpful Hints
● Put liquids into the blender first unless recipes call for an alternate blending sequence.
● Allow soup mixtures and cooked ingredients to cool before pouring into jar for blending.
● Do not allow the motor to stall. If necessary, turn off and unplug from electrical outlet immediately. Pour half of the contents out of the jar before resuming processing. It may be necessary to add liquid to process the ingredients.
● Do not store food or liquids in jar.
● If the blender turns too slowly, or seems to labor, increase the speed setting or remove some of the contents. Do not allow the blender to labor more than a few seconds as burnout can occur.
● In the event the blades become jammed with ingredients, turn off and unplug blender from electrical outlet. Pour contents into a holding bowl or jar. Follow instructions on cleaning and assembly sections of this manual to restore blender to operation.
● Be careful not to overprocess ingredients. Stop frequently to check the consistency. If necessary, divide ingredients in half and process separately for better control over consistency.
● To add foods when blender is operating, remove cover centerpiece from container cover and add ingredients through the opening.
● Do not try to mash potatoes, mix stiff dough, grind raw meat, whip egg whites or extract juices from fruits and vegetables. The blender is not made to perform these tasks.

Montando o liquidificador

Usando o liquidificador
1. Coloque o aparelho em uma superfície seca, nivelada e resistente ao calor, longe de qualquer borda. OBSERVAÇÃO: não opere o liquidificador onde poeira ou farinha possam ser sugadas pelas aberturas de ventilação, pois isso causará danos ao aparelho.
2. Conecte o cabo somente a uma tomada elétrica de 120 W.
3. Coloque os líquidos no liquidificador primeiro, a menos que as receitas solicitem uma sequência de processamento alternativa.
4. Prepare os ingredientes para misturar. Corte todos os ingredientes sólidos, isto é, as frutas, verduras, queijos ou carnes, em pedaços uniformes. Tampe o liquidificador. OBSERVAÇÃO: Sempre mantenha uma mão no copo ou na tampa para estabilizar o liquidificador durante a operação.
5. Bata os ingredientes de acordo com a receita ou até obter os resultados desejados. OBSERVAÇÃO: Se for necessário raspar ou mexer o conteúdo, coloque o liquidificador na posição “off” e desconecte-o da tomada. Use apenas uma espátula flexível, para não riscar o vidro.

Triturando gelo

IF YOU REALLY WANT TO HEAR about it, the first thing you'll probably want to know is where I was born, and what my lousy childhood was like, and how my parents were occupied and all before they had me, and all that David Copperfield kind of crap, but I don't feel like going into it, if you want to know the truth.
In the first place, that stuff bores me, and in the second place, my parents would have about two hemorrhages apiece if I told anything pretty personal about them.
They're quite touchy about anything like that, especially my father. They're nice and all - I'm not saying that - but they're also touchy as hell.
Besides, I'm not going to tell you my whole goddam autobiography or anything. I'll just tell you about this madman stuff that happened to me around last Christmas just before I got pretty run-down and had to come out here and take it easy.
I mean that's all I told D.B. about, and he's my brother and all. He's in Hollywood. That isn't too far from this crumby place, and he comes over and visits me practically every week end.
He's going to drive me home when I go home next month maybe. He just got a Jaguar. One of those lithe English jobs that can do around two hundred miles an hour. It cost him damn near four thousand bucks. He's got a lot of dough, now. He didn't use to. He used to be just a regular writer, when he was home.
He wrote this terrific book of short stories, The Secret Goldfish, in case you never heard of him. The best one in it was "The Secret Goldfish." It was about this little kid that wouldn't let anybody look at his goldfish because he'd bought it with his own money. It killed me. Now he's out in Hollywood, D.B., being a prostitute. If there's one thing I hate, it's the movies. Don't even mention them to me.
Where I want to start telling is the day I left Pencey Prep. Pencey Prep is this school that's in Agerstown, Pennsylvania. You probably heard of it. You've probably seen the ads, anyway.
They advertise in about a thousand magazines, always showing some hot-shot guy on a horse jumping over a fence. Like as if all you ever did at Pencey was play polo all the time. I never even once saw a horse anywhere near the place. And underneath the guy on the horse's picture, it always says: "Since 1888 we have been molding boys into splendid, clear-thinking young men." Strictly for the birds. They don't do any damn more molding at Pencey than they do at any other school. And I didn't know anybody there that was splendid and clear-thinking and all. Maybe two guys. If that many. And they probably came to Pencey that way.
Anyway, it was the Saturday of the football game with Saxon Hall. The game with Saxon Hall was supposed to be a very big deal around Pencey. It was the last game of the year, and you were supposed to commit suicide or something if old Pencey didn't win. I remember around three o'clock that afternoon I was standing way the hell up on top of Thomsen Hill, right next to this crazy cannon that was in the Revolutionary War and all. You could see the whole field from there, and you could see the two teams bashing each other all over the place.
You couldn't see the grandstand too hot, but you could hear them all yelling, deep and terrific on the Pencey side, because practically the whole school except me was there, and scrawny and faggy on the Saxon Hall side, because the visiting team hardly ever brought many people with them.

I was lucky. All of a sudden I thought of something that helped make me know I was getting the hell out. I suddenly remembered this time, in around October, that I and Robert Tichener and Paul Campbell were chucking a football around, in front of the academic building.
They were nice guys, especially Tichener. It was just before dinner and it was getting pretty dark out, but we kept chucking the ball around anyway. It kept getting darker and darker, and we could hardly see the ball any more, but we didn't want to stop doing what we were doing.
Finally we had to. This teacher that taught biology, Mr. Zambesis stuck his head out of this window in the academic building and told us to go back to the dorm and get ready for dinner. If I get a chance to remember that kind of stuff, I can get a good-by when I need one-at least, most of the time I can. As soon as I got it, I turned around and started running down the other side of the hill, toward old Spencer's house. He didn't live on the campus. He lived on Anthony Wayne Avenue.
I ran all the way to the main gate, and then I waited a second till I got my breath. I have no wind, if you want to know the truth. I'm quite a heavy smoker, for one thing-that is, I used to be. They made me cut it out. Another thing, I grew six and a half inches last year. That's also how I practically got t.b. and came out here for all these goddam checkups and stuff. I'm pretty healthy, though.
Anyway, as soon as I got my breath back I ran across Route 204. It was icy as hell and I damn near fell down. I don't even know what I was running for-I guess I just felt like it. After I got across the road, I felt like I was sort of disappearing. It was that kind of a crazy afternoon, terrifically cold, and no sun out or anything, and you felt like you were disappearing every time you crossed a road.
Boy, I rang that doorbell fast when I got to old Spencer's house. I was really frozen. My ears were hurting and I could hardly move my fingers at all. "C'mon, c'mon," I said right out loud, almost, "somebody open the door." Finally old Mrs. Spencer opened it. They didn't have a maid or anything, and they always opened the door themselves. They didn't have too much dough.
"Holden!" Mrs. Spencer said. "How lovely to see you! Come in, dear! Are you frozen to death?"
I think she was glad to see me. She liked me. At least, I think she did.
Boy, did I get in that house fast. "How are you, Mrs. Spencer?" I said. "How's Mr. Spencer?"
"Let me take your coat, dear," she said. She didn't hear me ask her how Mr. Spencer was. She was sort of deaf.
She hung up my coat in the hall closet, and I sort of brushed my hair back with my hand. I wear a crew cut quite frequently and I never have to comb it much.
"How'd you been, Mrs. Spencer?" I said again, only louder, so she'd hear me.
"I've been just fine, Holden." She closed the closet door. "How have you been?" The way she asked me, I knew right away old Spencer'd told her I'd been kicked out.

Se tem uma coisa que odeio, é o cinema. Nem me fale de cinema.
Eu quero começar a contar pelo dia que deixei o Pencey. O Pencey é aquele internato em Angerstown, na Pensilvânia. Vocês já devem ter ouvido falar, ou visto as propagandas pelo menos.
Eles anunciam em umas mil revistas, sempre com uma foto de um cara bonitão a cavalo pulando sobre uma cerca - como se as pessoas jogassem polo o tempo todo por lá, mas eu nunca vi cavalo algum em Pencey. Embaixo da foto, sempre diz: “Desde 1888 transformando jovens em homens esplêndidos e sagazes”. Uma ova. Não transformam ninguém, assim como em qualquer outro colégio. E não conheci ninguém esplêndido e sagaz por lá. Talvez uns dois, no máximo. E provavelmente já chegaram lá daquele jeito.
Enfim, era o sábado do jogo de futebol contra o Saxon Hall. Era um grande dia em Pencey. Era o último jogo do ano e o pessoal ia se matar ou algo assim se o Pencey não vencesse.
Eu me lembro que eram umas três horas da tarde e eu estava em pé lá em cima da colina Thomsen, bem ao lado de um canhão maluco da Guerra da Independência. De lá dava para ver o campo todo e os dois times se esmagando por toda parte.
Não dava para ver muito bem as arquibancadas, mas dava para ouvir a gritaria forte e animada da torcida do Pencey, já que praticamente o colégio todo estava lá - menos eu - e também a gritaria frouxa e boiola da torcida do Saxon Hall, já que o time visitante dificilmente levava muita gente.

Eu dei sorte. De repente eu pensei em algo que me ajudou a sentir que eu estava caindo fora. Me lembrei daquela vez, em outubro, que eu, Robert Tichener e Paul Campbell estávamos jogando bola em frente ao prédio acadêmico.

Enfim, assim que recuperei o fôlego, atravessei correndo a estrada. Estava cheia de gelo e quase levei um maldito tombo. Nem sei porque estava correndo – acho que simplesmente me deu vontade. Depois que atravessei, senti como se eu estivesse desaparecendo. Era uma daquelas tardes malucas, frias pra caramba, sem sol, e parecia que você estava desaparecendo sempre que atravessava a rua.
Cara, eu toquei a campainha depressa quando cheguei na casa do velho Spencer. Eu estava congelando. Minhas orelhas doíam e eu mal podia mexer os dedos. - Vamos, vamos - eu disse quase gritando - alguém abra essa porta. Finalmente a velha Sra. Spencer abriu. Não tinham empregada nem nada, sempre atendiam a porta eles mesmos. Não tinham muita grana.

Methods: In this quasi-experimental study with pre-test and post-test design, Autism Evaluation Scale and Motor Development Scale were administered to 30 randomly selected male students with autism spectrum disorder aged between 6 and 11 years before and after the intervention.
The experimental group attended 15 sessions (each lasted 60 minutes), twice a week and were trained by music therapy along with play therapy program. However, the control group did not receive such programs. One-way analysis of covariance was used for analyzing the data.

Métodos: Neste estudo quase experimental com pré e pós testes, a Escala de Avaliação de Autismo e a Escala de Desenvolvimento Motor foram aplicadas a 30 estudantes com transtorno do espectro do autismo selecionados aleatoriamente, todos com a idade entre 6 e 11 anos antes e após a intervenção.
O grupo experimental participou de 15 sessões de musicoterapia (cada uma com 60 minutos de duração), duas vezes por semana, junto ao programa de ludoterapia. No entanto, o grupo-controle não passou por tais programas. A análise unidirecional de covariância foi usada para analisar os dados.

Learning the basics of any language is a quick task. Programmes like Duolingo or Rosetta Stone can guide you through a few greetings and simple phrases at lightning speed. For a more personal experience, polyglot Timothy Doner recommends reading and watching material that you already have an interest in. “If you like cooking, buy a cookbook in a foreign language; if you like soccer, try watching a foreign game,” he says. “Even if you’re only picking up a handful of words per day - and the vast majority continue to sound like gibberish - they will be easier to recall later on.” Before you go too far, however, it’s important to consider exactly how you plan to use the language in the future.
“A busy professional might see Mandarin as important to learn because they have business contacts, or it could be a language your family spoke and you lost, or you’re in love with someone who spoke that language. Maybe you’re just interested in saying a few things to your in-laws,” Baker says. “It’s your personal motivations - the level you actually want to realistically live in the language.” Once your intentions for the new language are defined, you can begin planning out a productive hourly schedule for daily practice. “Learning a second language can satisfy an immediate need but it will also help you become a more understanding and empathic person by opening the doors to a different way of thinking and feeling,” says Meneghetti. “It’s about IQ and EQ combined.”
Communicating and empathising across language barriers can lead to a high-demand skill called ‘intercultural competence’ – essentially, the ability to build successful relationships with a variety of people from other cultures.
Dedicating one hour of your day towards learning a new language can be thought of as practice in bridging gaps between people. The result is a more malleable communication skillset that brings you closer to your peers at work, home or abroad. “You’re faced with a different worldview with someone from a different culture. You don’t rush to judgment and are more effective at resolving the clashes in the world that come up,” Baker says. “Just learning one language, any language in any culture, helps you to develop that adaptability and flexibility when faced with other cultures, period.”
