Italian term

un paio di potenti bracciate

Italian to English Marketing Sports / Fitness / Recreation Press release for fashion collection
This is from an advertising type description pasted at the top of a press release for a surfing themed collection for a designer/fashion sports brand of clothing. This paragraph is not part of the main press release but seems to be pasted above it, as if it is a form of advertising slogan which is used. The context reads:

"Posizionarsi perfettamente, affondare un paio di potenti bracciate, prendere velocità e poi alzarsi in piedi sulla tavola. Sentire l’oceano chiudersi attorno e per alcuni secondi vivere in un’altra dimensione che toglie il respiro. La prima volta, la prima onda al pipe."

I realise that the description is breaking down the beauty of the physical actions of surfing, but cannot understand what it is describing in terms of the arm movements, which I assume is what "bracciate" is all about.

dig into the water hard

another possibility - being too literal here, in my opinion, will take away from the dynamism of the description. This is how I would translate the passage:
"You get into just the right position, dig into the water hard, pick up speed and then stand up on your board - feeling the ocean close in on you for a few seconds, you're living in another dimension that takes your breath away. Your first time: your first ride in the tube."

This being a description of how you catch and take off on a wave when surfing. I've done it hundreds of times, most are so so, but when its perfect, there's nothing like it on earth.
