removable service tray
I know very little of the mechanics of this coffe vending machine, but this literal translation gets a couple of hits, e.g.:

: IMHO this is as ambigious as the German expression. What is a "Servicetablett" anyway? To me it sounds as if somebody translated "service tray" into DE and now it's being translated back...

Indeed! I also only have a limited idea of what a service tray might be!

: Servicetablett: Where you put a coffe mug to haul it around. Good thing it's removable, which makes it so much easier... The real German word would have been Serviertablett.

Steffen Walter
: The German should read "ServIERtablett" - see http://www.elektro-paradies.de/artikel.aspx?art=64742 (sorry, Klaus said this already). / And it should be "servING tray" - see http://www.boschappliances.com.au/content.asp?document_id=11...

"Serving tray" does get rather more hits, you're right. Best to check with the customer to be sure I'd say.

: Actually I have no idea what else it could be, but can't see how it's possible to be sure from the terribly limited context that this refers to a drip tray.//So it could be a 'warming tray' too?//Er, OK

I have check a couple of manuals to find a cup warming tray (which is not removable) and a removable drip tray, but never a removable service tray.//No, a warming tray is not removable.

: I thought so too, until I checked Steffen's ref, which has both Serviertablett and "entnehmbare Tropfschale mit Tresterbehälter und Tropfgitter"

Cilian, Saeco offers serving trays together with sugar trays as accessories to coffee supplies. But these are normal trays, not removable ones. My understanding is that "Service Tablett" is drip tray, whereas "Serviertablett" is a service tray.

Steffen Walter
: I rather suspect that Servicetablett is a misnomer for Serviertablett.

A picture of the machine may help to tell the difference.
