The Corporations Act 2001, sometimes referred to just as the Corporations Act, is the Australian Commonwealth act that sets out the laws that deal with business entities in Australia . It deals primarily with companies, although it also covers some laws relating to other entities such as partnerships
It is presently the largest corporations statute in the world. The CLERP reforms (currently at CLERP 9) are simplifying the statute. It is several thousand pages long, while the statute of, for example, Sweden, is less than 200 pages.
