agree  RobinB: I admit that sometimes idiosyncratic oddities creep in, but I think you and I need to have a talk about Datev's English... :-)

  -> My choice of words was a bit off. The underlying idea is that DATEV names reflect German GAAP, which doesn't always jive with Ango-American GAAP. But always glad to have a talk with you Robin!

Explanation:
Despite the official DATEV translation, I'm none too sure this is an 'account' in the proper sense of the words cf. Google translate: 'Sum lecture (!) account'.

Nor am I sure that the 'Übernahme in die Buchhaltung' excludes a UK-type holdover relief carried over from year to year until and unless used up.
