This question will upset physicians since they want to use the exact term. You should use ภาวะลิ่มเลือดในหลอดเลือดดำ. I met with a serious doctor who lectured me on my question. In fact he understand nothing about translation theories/processes.
You should also know how to do Google search. It is and essential part for Thai translators now.

I met with this style of comment from some translators in Thailand. I want them to know technical tools to do search of terms for their professional development. The tools can be learned and mastered widely through Internet.
"โรคไขมันอุดตันในเส้นเลือด" can be searched smartly via Google etc. by splitting this term into 2-3 single words. In fact, it is not "โรค" but "อาการ" or "ภาวะ" and Google search could not hit accurately.
