lelkizős szemelvény

Hungarian to English Art/Literary Poetry & Literature
"Na, és most egy újabb lelkizős szemelvény következik, szó szerint a naplómból:"

This is a novel in the form of a diary, think Bridget Jones meets The catcher in the rye....

soul-searching excerpt/piece/section

"lelkizős" can mean many different things, when someone pores out his/her heart/inner thoughts, or when someone questions his/her own actions/thoughts, or it could casually refer to a confidential conversation between close friends regarding matters of the heart.
So, it really depends on what the actual quote is after this introductory sentence.

agree Ildiko Santana : You beat me by 5 seconds, while I was collecting reference links! :) I would use "extract" though, in this more casual context. "And now, another soul-searching extract from my diary" is how I would put it.
