Thanks Tony. I did not know.
Tony M Aug 8, 2011:
even does mean exactly that: a 50/50 chance, a 1 in 2 chance etc.

It's a very standard term in EN, both in terms of games of chance, and everyday idioms.
Patrice Da Lage (asker) Aug 8, 2011:
Merci à tous: Gilles, Tony et Timothy.
GILLES MEUNIER Aug 8, 2011:
50/50 est de 50/50. C'est très possible...
Patrice Da Lage (asker) Aug 8, 2011:
Vous voulez dire que "even" signifierait dans ce cas précis "égal" au sens de 50/50?
GILLES MEUNIER Aug 8, 2011:
Pas plus de 50% ça semble logique Tony...
Tony M Aug 8, 2011:
Pas plus de 50% 'even' means 'an even chance', i.e. 50% likelihood (head / tails, etc.)

So the chance of someone winning one of these links must be no greater than 50%
Patrice Da Lage (asker) Aug 8, 2011:
Bonjour Gilles, Si assurément il doit s'agir de probabilité mais comment traduire ? Je ne comprends pas "no better than even"
GILLES MEUNIER Aug 8, 2011:
probabilité Ce n'est pas terme de probabilité ?
