Explanation:
Given this is an income tax return, the term "payments" as suggested above would not be very appropriate.
Alternatively: "Total income by way of salary and wages and the like"
an alternative for "income" is "earnings".
I don't feel that there is any connotation of "dependents" at all in this context.
