Apparently, we are called Fire talkers although I have always translated it as a Fire healer. I prefer to put a capital letter to the word Fire because it does not relate to just healing simple burns but perhaps also to healing the Fire of ignorance in general. I also sometimes refer to it as a psychic healer. Usually these people can also find water -- which is very handy! They also tend to be psychic and with regular yoga practice or other Chi related exercises they can become clairvoyants. A Fire talker does not transmit his secret to just anybody -- unlike a faith healer -- since it should not fall into the wrong hands. A Fire talker is no one special: they are mostly sockets through which electricity passes, but in no way they can claim to be the electricity. Being a Fire talker is considered to be a gift and therefore one should not charge for their services.
I also come from a faith healing tradition on my father's side and this is less of a secret. In fact, you can find many of these Christian related prayers on the Internet and, if you have faith, you can be one too.
Being both types of healer in a very sceptical world, where even some people who admit to have been healed still don't believe, the best is to use it to improve yourself and try to become a translator instead.
