Hi all,
If anyone knows about textile design or the textile industry in general I would really appreciate your help.
This is in some teaching materials for a school teacing textile design. It is an outline of the program (course content, evaluation methods, etc.), so the style is quite telegraphic. In otherwords, not a lot of context. The term appears only twice in the document, as follows:

Matière 2 / DESIGN TEXTILE / 2AT

/ Objectifs pédagogiques
• Savoir élaborer une gamme de couleurs
• Maitriser la composition motif textile print
• Maitriser les ****couvertures de fonds**** (motifs ouverts ou couverts)

...

Matière 6 / DESIGN TEXTILE / 3AT

/ Objectifs pédagogiques
• Savoir élaborer une gamme de couleurs en rapport avec le thème personnel
• Adapter au projet le motif textile print, les ****couvertures de fonds****

Any help would be greatly appreciated !
