Hello all subtitling specialists, I'm looking for suggestions regarding software options. Do you have any? I'm looking for something that might run on Windows 10. My purpose in using the software would be to put English subtitles into foreign-language marketing research interviews. I would imagine that the original videos would be in the vicinity of 60 minutes duration.

Thanks in advance.

James

Hello James,

if you're interested in something professional and want to spend some money, I would recommend you Ooona Translate. It costs $12/month or $144 annually. You can free trial it with full package (I think) for up to 20 subtitles I guess.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I have decided to go with Aegisub for the time being, the reason being that I want to retain my own intellectual property. Also, given the propriety nature of the subjects I work on, I don't think my clients would agree to me using an online platform.

Subtitle Edit is not an online platform, so it's safe to use without causing any confidentiality problems. I used Aegisub but found it cumbersome so gave it up. There is also MonalLe which I've used and is not an online platform, so it's safe too, especially in your case.
