I have a 300,000 word proofreading job split into 12 files. There will be inconsistencies in the proofread result, especially since my colleague is doing a part of the proofreading as well. I would like to proceed as follows:
1) Proofread the files, amending them where necessary.
2) Create a new, empty TM.
3) Import the amended target SDLXLIFF files from step 1.
4) Search the TM in Studio for certain key terms, amending them where necessary.
5) Search the TM in Studio again using "Search potential duplicates" as the search type and nothing in the source/target text fields. The result should be a set of pages with potential duplicates.
6) Remove any unwanted duplicates from the set of potential duplicates.
7) Re-translate the original SDLXLIFF files using the TM created in step 2 through 6.
Will this work? Have I missed something? Please respond.
I think you'll waist too much time on all these steps. I'm using X-bench for checking my translations and for proofreading jobs, and it works perfectly well. You'll be able to check for different types of errors and inconsistencies without re-translating and creating new TM.
Good luck!
