I am a native Spanish translator from Valencia (Spain) and I hold a master's degree in Translation and Interpreting (2006) in English and French.
Throughout my years at university I had the opportunity to study in Brussels and later I applied for an internship as a translator in northern France, where I worked for a company specialized in cheese manufacturing as a French / English into Spanish translator. This job gave me the opportunity to learn a lot about technical and scientific vocabulary, as well as acquiring a good knowledge in gastronomy.
I also worked for a publisher in Madrid (Spain) translating textbooks from Spanish into Valencian (the language we speak in Valencia and of which I am a native speaker too.) Later, I was contacted by a dubbing studio in Valencia to translate a series of cartoons from French into Valencian. This experience was very interesting and I started to be keen on audiovisual translation, so I recently finished an online course in Videogames Localization taught by Curri Barceló, a well-known Spanish videogame localizer.
I must say that I have spent the last 8 years of my life working as an English teacher -one of them in Illinois, USA- in all levels, from A1 to C2.
Obviously, I love languages, traveling and everything related to learning about other cultures and lifestyles. My other passions are reading and dancing (I was a ballet dancer for a long time,) so I am familiar with numerous text types, which allows me to offer a wide range of translation services, from educational to technical translation including audiovisual translation and localization -my specialization at the moment.
