Source text - English SAN DIEGO – With propylene glycol already declared 2018 Allergen of the Year in a published journal article, the news at the Allergen of the Year session of the American Contact Dermatitis Society was announcement of the 2019 pick, parabens.
From a skin perspective, parabens are “perhaps the safest” preservative, but despite that they have a bad public reputation Donald V. Belsito, MD, said in his Allergen of the Year talk during the Society’s annual meeting held the day before the annual meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology.
There is an unfounded public perception that parabens cause endocrine disruption. Naming parabens the “nonallergen” of the year for 2019 is an effort to dispel this myth, Dr. Belsito said in a video interview.
The public prejudice against parabens, exacerbated by many products that tout being paraben free, has helped cause a crisis because preservative systems in general have been under attack and facing restrictions. Dr. Belsito cited European limitations on the preservative methylisothiazolinone (Allergen of the Year in 2013) and withdrawal of formaldehyde (2015 Allergen of the Year) from many products.
Dr. Belsito also highlighted why propylene glycol received the nod as 2018’s Allergen of the Year (Dermatitis. 2018 Jan/Feb;29[1]:3-5). Propylene glycol is a very ubiquitous emulsifier found in cosmetics, foods, and both topical and oral medications. Caution is needed when running a patch test on the agent to distinguish an irritation reaction from an allergic reaction. Interpreting the test result correctly is very important, said Dr. Belsito, professor of dermatology at Columbia University in New York.
Parabens is the 20th Allergen of the Year named by the Society, an annual event since 2000.
Dr. Belsito has participated in the program since its start.

Každoroční zasedání Americké společnosti pro kontaktní dermatitidu se letos konalo v předvečer schůze Americké akademie pro dermatologii. Při projednávání otázek alergenů vystoupil dr. Donald V. Belsito, který prohlásil, že pro pokožku jsou parabeny „pravděpodobně ty nejbezpečnější“ konzervanty, ale navzdory tomu mají v očích veřejnosti špatnou pověst.
Ve společnosti převládá ničím nepodložený názor, dle kterého parabeny narušují funkci endokrinní soustavy. V televizním interview proto dr. Belsito zdůraznil, že jmenováním parabenů „nealergeny“ roku 2019 se odborníci snaží tento mýtus vyvrátit.
Předsudky veřejnosti vůči parabenů ještě zhoršují četné výrobky, které se honosí označením „bez parabenů“. Kvůli tomu je používání parabenů obecně kritizováno a omezováno. Dr. Belsito uvedl příklad evropských předpisů, které omezily užívat konzervant methylisotiazolinon (Alergen roku 2013) či nařídily úplné stažení formaldehydu (Alergen roku 2015) z některých produktů.
Dr. Belsito dále upřesnil, proč si propylenglykol vysloužil označení Alergen roku 2018 (Dermatitis. 2018 Jan/Feb;29[1]:3-5). Propylenglykol je hojně používaný emulgátor, který se nachází v kosmetice, potravinách a topicky i orálně podávaných lécích. Při testování přítomnosti této látky pomocí náplasti se musí postupovat opatrně, aby se projev podráždění nezaměnil s projevem alergické reakce. Dr. Belsito, který mimo jiné působí jako profesor dermatologie na Kolumbijské univerzitě v New Yorku, zdůraznil, jak důležité je výsledky testování správně interpretovat.
Parabeny jsou v pořadí již 20. látkou, která získala označení Alergen roku. Výběr a vyhlašování zajímavých alergenů pořádá Americká společnost pro kontaktní dermatitidu již od roku 2000. Dr. Belsito je členem poroty od prvního ročníku události.

Základní strategickou orientaci PRE definuje poslání společnosti – zajišťovat spolehlivé dodávky, výrobu a prodej energií a s nimi spojené služby na území hlavního města Prahy i celé České republiky. Jako provozovatel distribuční sítě je Skupina PRE již více než 120 let garantem spolehlivé energetické infrastruktury na území Prahy a hraje tak významnou roli v rozvoji celého regionu. Infrastruktura je klíčovým pojmem strategie PRE a společným jmenovatelem všech jejích rozvojových oblastí a nově zaváděných aktivit.
Růstové oblasti, jejichž rozvoj by měl přispět k plánovanému navýšení ročního hrubého provozního zisku (EBITDA) na úroveň přes 5 mld. Kč do roku 2025, jsou ve strategii i nadále členěny do následujících tří hlavních segmentů: inteligentní zákaznická infrastruktura, městská infrastruktura a udržitelná infrastruktura pro výrobu energie.
Segment inteligentní zákaznické infrastruktury spojuje oblasti prodeje energií a energetických služeb, u nichž je na energetickém trhu patrná stále silnější konvergence. PRE bude proto s ohledem na potřeby zákazníků rozvíjet nabídku kombinovaných produktů, které umožní propojení dodávek elektřiny a plynu s navazujícími energetickými službami, které zákazníkům přinesou přidanou hodnotu, jako je tomu například u střešních solárních systémů, vytápění, osvětlení nebo řešení pro elektromobilitu. Zároveň bude společnost dále posilovat digitalizaci svých procesů, zkvalitňovat obsluhu zákazníků a zavádět nové prodejní kanály.
Druhý strategický segment – městská infrastruktura – zahrnuje především oblast distribuce elektřiny na území hlavního města. Skupina PRE se bude i nadále soustředit na optimalizaci provozních procesů a „pochytřování“ distribuční soustavy, což předpokládá realizaci pilotních projektů a z dlouhodobého hlediska plošné zavádění nejmodernějších technologií chytrých sítí (smart grids). Tyto činnosti jsou významným způsobem posíleny i prostřednictvím akvizice společnosti Voltcom, která rozšiřuje know-how a kapacity v oblasti modernizace distribučních trafostanic. V dlouhodobém výhledu se společně s provozovatelem přenosové soustavy ČEPS plánují opatření ke zvyšování spolehlivosti dodávek elektřiny do metropole.
Segment městské infrastruktury obsahuje tři hlavní růstové oblasti: dobíjecí stanice pro elektromobily, optické sítě a veřejné osvětlení. Společnost vnímá elektromobilitu jako významné odvětví energetiky budoucnosti a v příštích letech v této oblasti využije dotace získané na budování celostátní i městské sítě dobíjecích stanic. V oblasti optických sítí je cílem PRE rozvoj infrastruktury pro vysokorychlostní internetová připojení. Při instalaci optických kabelů, které jsou zapotřebí pro fungování chytrých sítí, jsou totiž v rámci synergií současně pokládána také optická vlákna, která lze poskytnout pro využití externím subjektům. Třetí hlavní iniciativou společnosti v tomto segmentu je výraznější zapojení v oblasti veřejného osvětlení, a to ve spolupráci s hlavním městem Prahou. Společným jmenovatelem těchto iniciativ je také pilotní projekt „Chytrá čtvrť“, v rámci kterého připravuje PRE – synergicky s rozvojem distribuční sítě – kombinované zavedení LED veřejného osvětlení, dobíjecí infrastruktury a optické sítě, čímž bude moci Praze a jejím obyvatelům efektivně poskytnout inteligentní městskou infrastrukturu. V rámci tohoto strategického segmentu je nově rozvíjena iniciativa v oblasti plánování a výstavby chytrých budov na území Prahy, jejímž cílem je optimální využití pozemků a nemovitostí Skupiny PRE v kombinaci s instalací moderních technologií z portfolia energetických služeb.
Třetím strategickým segmentem PRE je trvale udržitelná infrastruktura pro výrobu energie z obnovitelných zdrojů. Zde bude PRE především prostřednictvím organického růstu uvážlivě rozšiřovat své portfolio obnovitelných zdrojů energie v závislosti na vývoji trhu a podmínek podpory pro nové výrobny energie z obnovitelných zdrojů. Skupina PRE taky pokračuje v naplňování své akviziční strategie prostřednictvím oportunistických investic do existujících výroben, přičemž v roce 2019 se rozrostla o větrný park Horní Částkov v Karlovarském kraji.
V růstových aktivitách se ve všech uvedených oblastech PRE může spolehnout jak na své rozsáhlé know-how a vlastní realizační kapacity, tak na dostatečné prostředky pro dodatečné investice na podporu rozvíjených oblastí. Společnost bude při všech rozvojových aktivitách vycházet ze své stabilní pozice na trhu a zejména ze silné a důvěryhodné značky, která je pro zákazníky i partnery symbolem jasných a neměnných hodnot.

The cornerstone of PRE’s strategy is its mission to be a reliable partner in supplying, generating and selling energy and providing related services in Prague as well as the entire Czech Republic. As the operator of the local distribution network, the PRE Group has been a guarantee of reliable energy infrastructure in the capital for more than 120 years, playing a major role in the development of the entire region. Infrastructure is the focal point of PRE’s strategy and a common denominator for all its development areas and newly launched activities.
The strategy continues to recognise three key areas, the development of which should contribute to the planned increase of EBITDA to more than CZK 5 billion by 2025; they include: smart customer infrastructure, city infrastructure, and sustainable energy generation infrastructure.
Smart customer infrastructure brings together the sale of energy and the sale of energy services, which seem to increasingly converge on the market. PRE plans to meet customers’ needs by developing its portfolio of combined products, enabling the joint supply of electricity and gas and provision of related value-added services, such as rooftop solar systems, heating, lighting or electromobility services. The company will also continue to digitise its processes, increase the quality of customer services and introduce new sales channels.
The second strategic development area, city infrastructure, mainly concerns the distribution of electricity in the capital. The PRE Group will continue to focus on the optimisation of its operating processes and “smartening” of the distribution network. To this end, it will carry out pilot projects and in the long-term introduce state-of-the-art smart grid technologies throughout the entire distribution network. The acquisition of Voltcom will enhance these activities, since the company contributes with its know-how and capacities on the modernisation of distribution transformer stations. In the long-term, the PRE Group plans to cooperate with the operator of the transmission system, ČEPS, taking specific measures to increase the reliability of the electricity supply in Prague.
The strategic development of city infrastructure focuses on three main elements: charging stations for electric vehicles, optical networks and street lighting. The company considers electromobility an important field of the future energy sector, where it plans to use subsidies on building city and countrywide networks of charging stations. As for optical networks, PRE aims to develop infrastructure for high-speed internet connection. To achieve synergies when laying fibre optical cables for smart grids, it will also create spare capacity that could be made available for the use by other entities. The company also wants to become a bigger player in the field of street lighting. These ambitions are realised in the pilot project “Smart neighbourhood”. The aim of this initiative is to introduce to Prague, together with modernising the entire distribution network, an interconnected network of LED street lightening, charging stations and an optical network. This will provide Prague and its citizens with an efficient and smart city infrastructure. Activities in this new strategic segment also include the design and construction of new smart buildings in Prague. The group strives to make an optimal use of lands and real estates in its ownership while tapping the potential of modern technologies that its portfolio of energy services has to offer.
PRE’s third key strategic development area is sustainable infrastructure for the generation of electricity from renewable sources. Here, PRE will prudently grow its portfolio of renewable energy sources by mainly organic means, taking account of market developments and any changes to the support schemes for building new sites for generating energy from renewable sources. The PRE Group fulfils its acquisition strategy by making opportunistic real estate investments in its production plants. To this end, in 2019, the group acquired a wind power farm in Horní Částkov in the Karlovy Vary region.
In pursuing its development goals in all of the areas, PRE can depend on its great know-how and in-house implementation capacities as well as the availability of sufficient additional investment capital to promote the desired development. In all its development activities, the company will draw upon its stable position on the market and its strong and trustworthy brand, which is synonymous with clear and lasting values among customers and partners.

Le 19 février 2019, la mort de Karl Lagerfeld faisait la une des journaux aux quatre coins du monde. Après Yves Saint Laurent et Azzedine Alaïa, c’est un troisième géant de la mode qui s’efface. Figure familière et mystérieuse à la fois, Karl Lagerfeld a régné pendant plusieurs décennies au sommet du panthéon contemporain. Au fil des années, le créateur a construit un personnage, évoluant, constamment, en fonction de l’air du temps. Tantôt fantasque, cassant, brillant, rigoureux ou provocateur, sa notoriété dépassait largement les cercles fermés de la mode. Ce statut à part lui valut le surnom de « Kaiser Karl ». Les multiples métamorphoses de Karl Lagerfeld ont contribué à façonner ce personnage énigmatique : jeune éphèbe bodybuildé, rondouillard en tenues XVIIIe, en costume se cachant derrière un éventail ou gravure néo-dandy au catogan poivre et sel depuis les années 2000. « Je suis comme une caricature de moi-même. C'est comme un masque. Pour moi, le Carnaval de Venise, c'est toute l'année » avouait-il avec son humour légendaire.
Comme Gabrielle Chanel, sa biographie contient quelques zones floues. Karl Otto Lagerfeldt est né à Hambourg en 1933 (certaines versions indiquaient 1938). Il simplifiera son nom en « Lagerfeld » au début de sa carrière en considérant que cela serait plus « commercial ». Certains détails personnels de la biographie de Karl Lagerfeld sont inconnus ou ont plusieurs versions, notamment sur sa famille et son enfance. En 1954, le Secrétariat International de la Laine consacre deux créateurs : Yves Mathieu Saint Laurent, âgé de dix-huit ans, pour la catégorie « robes du soir » et Karl Lagerfeld, vingt et un ans, pour la catégorie « manteaux ». Yves Saint Laurent deviendra rapidement « le petit prince » de la couture, notamment lorsqu’il remplace M. Dior en 1957, alors que Karl Lagerfeld va travailler pendant près de trente ans dans l’ombre.

Po Yvesi Saint Laurentovi a Azzedinovi Alaïovi se stal Lagerfeld třetí legendou módního průmyslu, která opustila tento svět. Karl Lagerfeld byl osobností celosvětově známou, a přesto záhadnou. Po několik desetiletí držel pomyslné žezlo nejvlivnějšího představitele současného módního světa. Za svůj život ze sebe vytvořil známou osobnosti, která se však neustále v závislosti na době proměňovala. Ať už vystupoval jako rozmarný stylista, křehký umělec, génius, precizní tvůrce či provokatér, jeho jméno znali i lidé mimo uzavřené módní kruhy. Pověstí někoho jedinečného si vysloužil přezdívku „Kaiser Karl“ (z němčiny „císař Karl“). Četné proměny Karla Lagerfelda přispěly k oné záhadné auře, která jej obklopovala: pamatujeme ho jako mladičkého krasavce s tělem kulturisty, zaobleného třicátníka ve vázankách z 18. století v obleku a s vějířem v ruce a od počátku tisíciletího ho všichni známe jako moderního dandyho s prošedivělým ohonem. „Jsem sám svou vlastní karikaturou. Je to taková maska. Pro mě je celý rok jako karneval v Benátkách,“ přiznal sám se svým pověstným smyslem pro humor.
Stejně jako u Gabrielle Chanel i v jeho životopise zůstává několik prázdných míst. Karl Otto Lagerfeldt se narodil v Hamburku roku 1933 (některé verze uvádí 1938). Na začátku své kariéry se rozhodl příjmení zjednodušit na „Lagerfeld“, protože to bylo podle jeho vlastních slov „lepší pro obchod“. Řada osobních detailů o jeho životě není doposud známá anebo se v různých verzích liší, zejména informace o jeho rodině a dětství. V roce 1954 ocenila porota módní ceny Secrétariat international de la laine talent dvou mladých návrhářů: osmnáctiletého Yvese Saint Laurenta v kategorii večerní róby a jednadvacetiletého Karla Lagerfelda za jeho návrhy kabátů. Korunním princem módního průmyslu se stal Yves Saint Laurent, když v roce 1957 zastal místo Christiana Diora. Téměř 30 let tak Karl Lagerfeld pracoval a tvořil v jeho stínu.
