Bio

I am a Brussels-based Hebrew to English translator and business plan writer. I completed my first Hebrew to English corporate translation job back in 2004; since then, a large proportion of my work has been geared towards the investment community. I currently focus on translations of corporate, financial and marketing documents.

I completed my business education in both UK and US-based universities. I studied economics at the London School of Economics, where I developed a curiosity for public economics and economic history. I furthered my education at the Kellogg School of Management in Evanston, Illinois, where I completed an executive MBA in a joint program with Tel Aviv University.

While I grew up in London, substantially all of my business career was in Israel, where I lived for 18 years until a recent move to Belgium. Alongside my native English and fluent Hebrew, I speak French and Italian at intermediate level.

I started my career in translations after working at Globes, Israel’s leading business newspaper. As my finance career developed, I learned about an array of companies in the business sector and the idiosyncrasies of each one. For example, as a stockbroker, I had to explain – sometimes in layman’s terms and other times as an expert – the particulars concerning Israeli banks, telecom, insurance, and pharmaceutical companies, to name but a few. As a business analyst, I worked on macroeconomic reports, surveys and business plans. As a trade finance manager at a commodities trading firm, I produced strategy plans for the company's banks. Throughout all of these full time positions, I maintained a select group of translation clients that I was able to serve mostly on evenings and weekends.

My experience has given me a depth of familiarity across a range of corporate situations as well as an ability to respond effectively to different audiences. I have had to dive precisely into details when my audience was the sophisticated- institutional-investor or corporate banker type. Consequently, I’ve learned over many years to master financial and economic jargon and its precise translation from Hebrew into English.

I have found that my experience in business has been extremely valuable for me and my clients whenever I approach a translation project.  I try to focus on areas that align with my background, so corporate, marketing, finance and business research documents naturally form the core of my work. My reputation is important to me so I only accept projects when I am confident I can produce a top quality translation.

I have posted some samples of my work on my profile page. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about how I can help you. Thank you.
