Source text - English INFORMED CONSENT CANOPY/CHALLENGE COURSE WAIVER/RELEASE
1. I understand that the canopy/challenge course can be strenuous and my circulatory and respiratory systems must be healthy.
2. I understand that the canopy/challenge course has inherent risks and dangers associated with it, including but not limited to risks as-
sociated with the terrain and equipment failure and I SPECIFICALLY ASSUME SUCH RISKS.
3. I acknowledge that I am physically fit for the activity and, I WILL NOT HOLD “THE ANTIGUA RAINFOREST CO.” RESPON- SIBLE IF I AM INJURED AS A RESULT OF HEART PROBLEMS, OR OTHER ILLNESS, OR MEDICAL PROBLEMS WHICH OCCUR DURING THE ACTIVITY.
4. I fully understand and am aware that the canopy/challenge course has limited medical facilities and that in the event of illness or in- jury, appropriate medical care must be summoned by radio or phone and that treatment will be delayed until I can be transported to the proper medical care facility.
5. I confirm that I am over the age of consent or accompanied by a guardian/parent who is over the age of consent, eighteen (18) years of age and that I/we have read and understood this agreement prior to signing.
6. This Waiver, Release and assumption of liability shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Antigua & Bar- buda without regard to conflict of laws and I hereby irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Antigua & Barbuda in respect of any matter arising out of or connected with this agreement.
7. I agree that any prints, films, sound or other recording of any part of my canopy/challenge course will not be used in any promotion or advertising without prior consent of the Antigua Rainforest Company. I agree that the Antigua Rainforest Company itself may use such recordings as it deems fit.
8. I HAVE READ THE FORGOING IN ITS ENTIRETY AND HAVE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO PERSONALLY DISCUSS WITH A TOUR LEADER THE POTENTIAL DANGERS INCIDENTAL TO ENGAGING IN THE ACTIVITY OF THE CANOPY/ CHALLLENGE COURSE, AND I UNDERSTAND AND AGREE TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS SET FORTH IN THIS WAIVER AND I HEREBY ASSUME ALL LIABILITY THEREFORE ON BEHALF OF MYSELF, MY HEIRS AND PERSONAL REPRESENTATIVES.
9. BY THIS INSTRUMENT I, MY HEIRS, PERSONAL REPRESENTATIVES AND ASSIGNS, HEREBY WAIVE ALL AND ANY RIGHTS TO SUE ALL PERSONS OR ENTITIES REFERRED TO HEREIN, WHETHER SPECIFICALLY NAMED OR NOT, FOR DAMAGE CAUSED AS A RESULT OF MY ENGAGING IN THE ACTIVITY NAMED HEREIN AND I HEREBY HOLD HARM- LESS AND INDEMNIFY THE ANTIGUA RAINFOREST COMPANY, ITS EMPLOYEES, AGENTS AND TRANSPORTATION (WHETHER OWNED, OPERATED, LEASED OR CHARTERED FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY FOR PERSONAL INJURY, PROPERTY DAMAGE OR WRONGFUL DEATH HAVING BEEN MADE AWARE OF THE INHERENT RISKS OF THIS ACTIV- ITY.
I SPECIFICALLY ASSUME ALL RISK IN CONNECTION WITH THE CANOPY/CHALLENGE COURSE ACTIVITIES.

1. Entendo que o circuito de desafio de arvorismo pode ser extenuante, e que meu sistema circulatório e sistema respiratório devem ser saudáveis.
2. Entendo que o circuito de desafio de arvorismo tem riscos inerentes e perigos associados com ele, incluindo, mas não limitado aos riscos associados com o terreno e falha de equipamentos, e ASSUMO EXPRESSAMENTE TAIS RISCOS.
3. Reconheço que eu estou fisicamente apto/apta para a atividade e, NÃO IREI RESPONSABILIZAR “THE ANTIGUA RAINFOREST CO.” SE EU SOFRER DANOS OU LESÕES COMO RESULTADO DE PROBLEMAS CARDÍACOS, OU DE OUTRAS DOENÇAS OU CONDIÇÕES MÉDICAS QUE OCORRAM DURANTE A ATIVIDADE.
4. Eu entendo completamente e eu estou ciente de que o circuito de desafio de arvorismo tem instalações médicas limitadas, e que, em caso de doença ou lesão, assistência medica apropriada deve ser convocada por rádio ou telefone, e que o tratamento será adiado até que eu possa ser transportado/transportada a uma instalação de assistência médica adequada.
5. Confirmo que eu estou acima da idade de consentimento ou acompanhado/acompanhada pelo responsável ou um dos pais acima da idade de consentimento de dezoito (18) anos de idade, e que eu li e entendi/ nós lemos e entendemos este contrato antes da assinatura.
6. Esta renúncia, liberação, e assunção de responsabilidade será regida e interpretada de acordo com as leis de Antigua e Barbuda, independentemente de conflito das leis, e submeto irrevogavelmente à jurisdição exclusiva dos tribunais de Antigua e Barbuda em relação a qualquer assunto que resulte ou esteja relacionado com este contrato.
7. Concordo que as impressões, filmes, som, ou outra gravação de qualquer parte do circuito de desafio de arvorismo não serão utilizados em qualquer promoção ou publicidade sem o consentimento prévio da Antigua Rainforest Company. Concordo que o próprio Antigua Rainforest Company pode utilizar tais gravações conforme considere adequado.
8. LI O ACIMA EXPOSTO EM SUA TOTALIDADE E TIVE A OPORTUNIDADE DE DISCUTIR PESSOALMENTE COM UM LÍDER DE EXCURSÃO SOBRE OS PERIGOS POTENCIAIS RELACIONADOS COM A PARTICIPAÇÃO NO CIRCUITO DE DESAFIO DE ARVORISMO, E ENTENDO E CONCORDO COM OS TERMOS E CONDIÇÕES ESTABELECIDOS NESTA RENÚNCIA, E ASSUMO RESPONSABILIDADE TOTAL PORTANTO EM MEU NOME, DE MEUS HERDEIROS, E DE MEUS REPRESENTANTES PESSOAIS.
9. POR ESTE INSTRUMENTO, EU, MEUS HERDEIROS, MEUS REPRESENTANTES PESSOAIS E CESSIONÁRIOS RENUNCIAMOS TODO E QUALQUER DIREITO DE PROCESSAR TODAS AS PESSOAS OU ENTIDADES REFERIDAS AQUI, IDENTIFICADAS ESPECIFICAMENTE OU NÃO, POR DANOS CAUSADOS COMO RESULTADO DA MINHA PARTICIPAÇÃO NA ATIVIDADE AQUI DENOMINADA E CONCORDO EM ISENTAR E DESRESPONSABILIZAR THE ANTIGUA RAINFOREST COMPANY, SEUS FUNCIONÁRIOS, AGENTES E TRANSPORTE (SEJAM PRÓPRIO, OPERADO, ALUGADO OU FRETADO) DE TODA E QUALQUER RESPONSABILIDADE POR DANOS PESSOAIS, DANOS À PROPRIEDADE OU MORTE POR NEGLIGÊNCIA, TENDO SIDO FEITO/FEITA CONSCIENTE DOS RISCOS INERENTES A ESTA ATIVIDADE.

I have a passion for translation, writing, research, and editing, and possess seven years of translation experience within the context of diplomacy. I can speak and write English and Brazilian Portuguese with native fluency.
I have eight years experience translating from Brazilian Portuguese to English and English to Brazilian Portuguese within the context of diplomacy and international relations as a diplomat, as well as a former intern at a United Nations agency (UNAIDS) in Brasilia, Brazil. In addition, I attended and completed postgraduate studies at the Brazilian Diplomatic Academy, the prestigious Rio Branco Institute, which is attached to the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs of Brazil.
