Bio

Native French translator, holder of a PhD in Biochemistry from Oxford University (2012) and specialised in life sciences, medical sciences and biophysics.

I have a bench work experience of eight years in research laboratories (Alzheimer's disease and colon cancer, GPCRs membrane proteins, photosensors, AFM microscopy), including five years at the Oxford Biochemistry Department: I have thus a deep understanding of relevant scientific methodologies and techniques that non-scientists may not necessarily acquire after working for years in the translation industry.

I have developed the ability to write clearly and in a style appropriate to purpose (scientific articles, PhD thesis, communications to non-specialist audience) and I have demonstrated a natural attention to detail. I have experience both in industry and in academia, where I have developed and maintained co-operative networks and working relationships.

Past projects include: EN>FR translation of presentations of new therapeutic strategies, clinical trial documents, drug leaflets, safety data sheets (chemicals, drilling fluids, etc.), user manuals (medical devices, molecular biology equipment, immunoenzymatic assay), writing and editing of scientific publications (biochemistry, biophysics and cardiology research articles), preparation of congress materials, grant proposals writing/editing for research laboratories, EN > FR and FR > EN transcription of French doctors interviews
(case study and market research interviews for pharmaceutical firms and
medical equipment manufacturers).
