Source text - English Balanced System : If the owner appoints a project management company to manage die project on its behalf, the project management company may adopt a system which takes care of the requirement of owner, vendor and contractor. It is, however, important to note that since the schedule requires a party to commit to a scheme of working and time frame, the project management company will invariably ask the concerned agency to submit a schedule; but the agency schedule is finalized and becomes a working document only after it meets the requirement of overall project schedule. This, of course, involves a joint discussion so that not only the interest of the project but also that of the concerned parties is built into die schedule. When a system thus takes care of the task and resource requirement of both owner and contractor, the system can be termed as a balanced system. Figure 9.22 shows the balanced system; here the networks take care of the task requirement of the owner, die functional bar chart schedules take care of the resource requirement of the contractor, whereas input-output schedules take care of the individuals at die operating level whose main concern is completion of the assigned task and not optimum utilization of resources nor sequential completion of project hardware systems.
