Source text - Indonesian Garuda Mataram Motor (GMM) selaku ATPM Volkswagen (VW) di Indonesia, resmi meluncurkan dua model baru, Golf GTI Mk7 dan Scirocco GTS, di mal Living World, Tangerang, Selasa (3/6/2014).
Keduanya dipasarkan dalam jumlah terbatas, Golf GTI cuma 60 unit dengan harga Rp 731 juta (on the road Jakarta). Sedangkan Scirocco GTS dibanderol Rp 590 juta (on the road Jakarta) dan hanya tersedia 40 unit.
"Pasokan dua model buat Indonesia ini memang terbatas, tapi jumlah itu memang sesuai dengan permintaan," ujar Andrew Nasuri, Presiden dan CEO GMM, saat peluncuran.
Golf GTI
Melanjutkan peluncuran Volkswagen Golf generasi ketujuh di IIMS 2013 lalu, butuh waktu cukup lama buat GMM menghadirkan versi paling tinggi, GTI. Andrew menjelaskan, masalah utama sama seperti model lainnya yang meluncur di Indonesia, butuh penyesuaian dari spek Euro 5 ke Euro 2 (Indonesia).
"Kendalanya tetap jenis bahan bakar. Kita bukan down spec, tenaga dan performanya sama tapi gas buangnya yang berbeda. Yang diganti suspensi, thermostat, radiator, pemetaan ulang ECU, dan catalitic converter," urai Andrew.
Tenaga 212 PS dan torsi 350 Nm dihasilkan mesin 4-silinder, kapasitas 2.0 L. Kemampuan itu bisa dicapai, namun "aman" menggunakan jenis bensin yang beredar di Indonesia. GMM mengklaim, di trek lurus akselerasi 0-100 kpj mampu ditempuh dalam waktu 6,5 detik. Kecepatan maksimum 246 kpj.
"GTI bukan cuma sekedar kendaraan tapi ikon. Generasi ketujuh GTI lebih luar biasa," umbar Andrew.
Scirocco GTS
Penampilannya mencolok dengan "striping balap" dari kap mesin hingga buritan. Pada dasarnya nama GTS bukanlah kode produksi, tapi lambang aksesori khusus. "Ubahannya hanya aksesori dengan konsep limited," jelas Andrew.
Terdapat berbagai ubahan dari edisi terdahulu, jahitan logo GTS di jok mobil, setir, dan door trim. Masih ada lagi yang menjadi pembeda dari varian standar, pelek 18 inci dan sunroof. Versi GTS hanya tersedia di jenis mesin 1.4 L bertenaga 160 PS dan torsi 240 Nm.

Golf GTI
As a follow up to the launch of the 7th Generation Volkswagen Golf at the Indonesia International Motor Show 2013, it took GMM quite a while to bring the highest version of the Golf model, the GTI. Andrew explained that the main problem is the same as with the other models, to carry out adjustments from the Euro 5 to the Euro 2 (Indonesia) specification.
“Type of fuel is always the obstacle. We aren’t down-grading the specifications, the power and performance are the same, it’s the gas emissions that differ. Changes are done to the suspension, thermostat, radiator, catalytic converter, and we also have to remap the ECU (electronic control unit),” Andrew said.
The 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine produces 212 HP and 350 Nm of torque. This performance may be achieved, while “safely” using the type of fuel available in Indonesia. GMM claims that on a straight track the GTI can propel itself from 0-100 km/h in 6.5 seconds. It can reach a maximum speed of 246 km/h.
“GTI isn’t simply an iconic car. The 7th Genration GTI is more than amazing,” Andrew said.
Scirocco GTS
With an eye-catching “racing striping” stretching from the hood to the rear, the GTS . The name GTS isn’t a production code, but rather is derived from a special accessory logo. “The modification only came in the accessory with a ‘limited edition’ concept,” Andrew said.
Several modifications were done to the previous release, among them a stitching of the GTS logo in the interior, steering wheel, and door trims. Several other changes set it apart from the standard model, including 18 inch rims and a sunroof. The only available GTS versions is one with a 1.4 L engine capable of 160 HP and 240 Nm of torque.
