Source text - Portuguese Em 1967, o dramaturgo Plínio Marcos escreveu o texto que seria o mais encenado entre toda a sua produção: Navalha na Carne. Proibida pelo regime militar já nas primeiras leituras dramáticas realizadas em São Paulo, a peça pôde ser levada ao público graças a intervenções da atriz Tônia Carrero. A ação se passa no quarto de um bordel e trata dos conflitos de três personagens: a prostituta Neusa Sueli, seu cafetão, Vado, e o homossexual Veludo. Vado maltrata a ambos e, no fim, é intimado por Neusa a fazer sexo com ela, ameaçado por uma navalha. Ele se nega e a abandona.
Chamada de "Entre Quatro Paredes dos pobres" pelo crítico Décio de Almeida Prado, esta obra parece guardar realmente semelhanças com a peça do francês Jean-Paul Sartre (1905-1980), em que três personagens, mandados ao inferno, têm de passar a eternidade juntos, encerrados em uma sala. Plínio Marcos mostrava-se, mesmo sem o propósito definido, bastante próximo das melhores tendências de vanguarda. Sua dramaturgia, de natureza engajada em razão do contexto histórico em que produziu boa parte de suas peças, refletia sobre a miséria da sociedade brasileira. Em uma entrevista concedida à revista Isto É, Plínio disse que Navalha na Carne surgiu em um período sadio de criação: "Quando as forças repressoras avançam e a intelectualidade recua, evidentemente instala-se o obscurantismo. Quando as forças repressoras avançam mas encontram resistências firmes na área intelectual, gera-se, então, um clima ótimo para o trabalho de criação. Este período de 1966 a 1968 foi de muita lucidez no Brasil. Foi um período de resistência, talvez até mesmo desordenada. Mas foi um período de lutas contra o obscurantismo".
Para o crítico e ensaísta Anatol Rosenfeld, ao se analisar a linguagem de Navalha na Carne vê-se na peça uma harmonia entre a linguagem extremamente violenta e chocante e a precisão com que as situações são descritas. O conflito intenso se estabelece desde a primeira cena, quando Neusa Sueli, depois de uma noite de trabalho, volta para seu quarto e encontra Vado irritado. Ela é ofendida, sem que o espectador saiba o motivo pelo qual é agredida e espancada. Até o final da trama, haverá uma pequena mudança na ação da prostituta. Veludo seria um personagem auxiliar do conflito entre o casal. Sua presença enfatiza a agressividade de Vado. "Plínio Marcos não intervém nos acontecimentos. Mantém-se na neutralidade do naturalismo, mas deixando entrever claramente que a sua posição moral não se confunde com a de seus personagens. Ele sente por suas criaturas suficiente afinidade para compreendê-las, talvez suficiente piedade para justificá-las, porém nunca as propõe como modelos", escreveu o crítico Décio de Almeida Prado.
Plínio Marcos nasceu em Santos, em 1935. Morreu em 1999, em São Paulo. Entre as inúmeras profissões que exerceu estão a de humorista de rádio, administrador do Teatro de Arena, técnico de televisão, ator e palhaço de circo. Dedicou-se também à prosa de ficção para escapar da ditadura militar. Entre suas melhores peças estão Dois Perdidos numa Noite Suja (1966), Quando as Máquinas Param (1967) e Abajur Lilás (1975).
Translation - English In 1967, the playwright Plínio Marcos wrote the play that would become the most enacted piece throughout its entire production: Navalha na Carne (Razor in the Flesh). Banned by the military regime during its first dramatic readings in Sao Paulo, the piece was able to be brought to the public thanks to the intervention of Tônia Carrero. The action takes place in the bedroom of a brothel, and deals with the conflicts of three characters: the prostitute Neusa Sueli, her pimp, Vado, and the homosexual Veludo (Velvet). Vado mistreats both of them, and in the end, threatened with a razor, Neusa summons him to have sex with her. He refuses and leaves.
Called "In the Four Walls of the Poor" by critic Decio de Almeida Prado, this work maintains strong similarities with the piece of Frenchman Jean-Paul Sartre (1905-1980) in which three people, sent to hell, must pass eternity together, locked in a room. Plínio Marcos, without claiming intent to do so, came very close to the best cutting edge trends. His drama, engaging in the historical context of most of his plays, reflects on the misery of Brazilian society. In an interview with the publication Isto É, Plínio said that Navalha na Carne emerged during a period of healthy creation: "When the repressive forces advance and intellectualism retreats, evidently obscurity inserts itself. When respressive forces advance, but meet firm intellectual resistance, it creates a great environment for the labor of creation. The period of 1966 to 1968 was one of great lucidity in Brazil. It was a period of resistance, perhaps even chaos. But it was a period of struggle against obscurity."
To critic and essayist Anatol Rosenfeld, when analyzing the language of Navalha na Carne, he sees a harmony in the play between the extremely violent and shocking language, and the precision with which the situations are described. The intense conflict establishes itself from the first scene, when Nuesa Sueli, after a night of work, returns to her room and finds an angry Vado. She is outraged, without the viewer knowing that the reason is because she has been assaulted and beaten. By the end of the plot, is a small change in the behavior of the prostitute. Veluda would be an auxiliary character to the conflict between the couple. His presence emphasizes Vado's aggressiveness. "Plínio Marcos doesn't intervene in the happenings. He maintains a natural neutrality, but lets it be seen clearly that his moral position is not that of his characters. He feels enough affinity for his creations to understand them, perhaps enough piety to justify them, but never suggests them as rolemodels," writes critic Décio de Almeido Prado.
Plínio Marcos was born in Santos, in 1935. He died in 1999, in São Paulo. Among the many professions that he pursued are radio comedian, theater director, TV technician, actor, and circus clown. He also dedicated himself to fictional prose to escape the military dictatorship. Among his best pieces are Dois Perdidos numa Noite Suja (Two Lost in a Dirty Night) (1966), Quando as Máquinas Param (When the Machines Stop) (1967), and Abajur Lilás (Lilac Shade) (1975).

Versão - o primeiro campo do cabeçalho de um datagrama IPv4 é o campo de versão, com quatro bits.
IHL - o segundo campo, de quatro bits, é o IHL (acrónimo para Internet Header Length, ou seja, Comprimento do Cabeçalho da Internet) com o número de palavras de 32 bits no cabeçalho IPv4. Como o cabeçalho IPv4 pode conter um número variável de opções, este campo essencialmente especifica o offset para a porção de dados de um datagrama IPv4. Um cabeçalho mínimo tem vinte bytes de comprimento, logo o valor mínimo em decimal no campo IHL seria cinco.
Tipo de serviço - no RFC 791, os oito bits seguintes são alocados para um campo tipo de serviço (ToS), agora DiffServ e ECN. A intenção original era para um nó especificar uma preferência para como os datagramas poderiam ser manuseados assim que circulariam pela rede. Version - the first field of an IPv4 datagram's header is the version field, with four bits.
IHL - the second field of four bits is the IHL (Internet Header Length) which is the number of 32-bit words in the IPv4 header. As the IPv4 header may contain a variable number of options, this field essentially specifies the offset for the data portion of an IPv4 datagram. A header has a minimum length of twenty bytes, so the minimum decimal value in the IHL field would be five.
Type of service - in RFC 791, the following eight bits are allocated to a type of service (ToS) field, (now DiffServ and ECN). The original intent was for a node to specify a preference for how the datagrams would be handled as they circulate throughout the network. For example, a node may define the scope of its IPv4 datagram ToS values to prefer short lag, whereas others may prefer high reliability. In practice, the ToS field has not been widely implemented. Nevertheless, experimental work, research and development focused on how to make use of these eight bits. These bits have been redefined, more recently by the IETF's DiffServ group, and by the Explicit Congestion Notification's (ECN) code points. (RFC 3168).
Full size - the field of sixteen bits following the IPv4 defines the entire datagram size, including header and data, in bytes of eight bits. The minimum-length datagram is twenty bytes and the maximum is 64 Kb. The maximum size datagram that any node is required to be able to handle is 576 bytes, but the most modern nodes handle much larger packets. Sometimes subnetworks impose restrictions on size, in each case datagrams must be "fragmented". Fragmentation is handled by either the node or the packet switch in IPv4, and only by the node in IPv6.
Identifier - the next field is a sixteen-bit identification field. This field is used primarily to identify fragments which in turn identify the original IP datagram. Some experimental work has suggested using the ID field for other purposes, such as adding packet tracing information to datagrams in order to help trace back datagrams with spoofed source addresses.
Flags - the following three-bit field is used to control or identify fragments.
Offset - the offset field of the fragment has thirteen bits, and allows a receiver to determine the location of a particular fragment in the original IP datagram.
Lifetime - a field of eight bits, the TTL (time to live) helps prevent datagrams from persisting (eg travelling in circles) on a network. Historically, the TTL field limits the life of a datagram in seconds, but has come to count the number of nodes travelled. Each packet switch that a datagram crosses lowers the TTL field by one. When the TTL field reaches zero, the packet is not forwarded by a packet switch and is discarded.
Protocol - The following field is an 8 bit protocol field defining the next protocol used in the data portion of an IP datagram. The Internet Assigned Numbers Authority maintains a list of protocol numbers. Common protocols and their decimal values include ICMP (1), TCP (6).
Checksum - The next field is a verification field for the IPv4 datagram header. A package in transit is modified by each switch it reaches. One of these switches can compromise the packet, and verification is a simple way to detect header consistency. This value is adjusted along the way and checked at every new node. Verification involves only the header and not data.
Source address/destination - verification field follow the source and destination addresses, 32 bits each. Note that the IPv6 source and destination addresses are 128 bits each.
Options - Additional header fields may follow the destination address field, but these are not commonly used. The option fields may be followed by a field which ensures that the user data is aligned on a boundary of 32-bit words. (In IPv6, the options move outside the standard header and are specified by the Next Protocol field, similar to the function of the field "Protocol" in IPv4). Following are three examples of options that are implemented and accepted by most routers:
Security (specifies the security level of the datagram (used in military applications)), Timestamp (Makes each router attach its address and timestamp (32 bits), which serves the purpose of debugging routing algorithms) and Record route (makes each router attach its address).
