María Cielo Pipet holds a Sworn English-Spanish Translator degree awarded by the National University of La Plata (Universidad Nacional de La Plata, UNLP) and also a Spanish International Copy Editor and Proofreader degree awarded by the Fundación Litterae-Fundéu. In October 2010, the Association of Sworn Translators of the City of Buenos Aires (Colegio de Traductores Públicos de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, CTPCBA) awarded her a scholarship to attend the Professional Proofreading Course at Cálamo & Cran (Madrid, Spain). Since 2005, she has worked as a freelance translator and proofreader, specialized in editing and proofreading both translations and texts originally written in Spanish. Since 2008, she has been in charge of online and in-person courses and workshops on proofreading and Spanish language rules, including the first Proz.com on-line Spanish proofreading training.
