We are a group of translators who would like to meet like-minded people and discuss common issues and topics in our industry. Below is a detail of what we would like to achieve in this one-day meet that we are organizing on 3rd Nov'2012.
Outline
Translation being one of the upcoming industries, it is high time that it gets its due attention and respect. Translation which started as a support is now an independent and flourishing career option.
Translation which finds its roots in the olden days where epics and novels (literary translation) were translated into various languages with the aim of cultural exchanges has established itself as an independent value addition service in the corporate world. Bangalore being a culturally and technically rich city accommodates many corporate houses and renowned authors. Thus, there is a huge translator base catering to both the requirements.
There are two genres of Translators; ones who are certified and ones who are born to do Translation.
In order to strengthen the Translation fraternity, it is of utmost importance that both the parties complement each other. This will be possible only if we reunite and understand each other to make this profession more valuable.
Working towards the idea mentioned above, we have taken an initiative to organize this event where opportunity awaits all the Language professionals to collectively discuss the scope, challenges and benefits in our industry.
Aim
To be focused, we suggest addressing the following topics: -
Reuniting the translation/interpretation workforce
