Hello,

I use Outlook 2000 Premium with Windows XP (SP2). I also use Plaxo and Norton Antispam.

When I write an email and click Send, it stays in the outbox and have "None" as sent date.

The problem has appeared recently and I suspect it has something to do with Norton Antispam, which I installed a couple of days ago.

The problem has appeared recently and I suspect it has something to do with Norton Antispam, which I installed a couple of days ago.

I have found a way around the problem: reopen the email once it's in the Outbox (with None as sent date), click Send again, then Send/Receive and it eventually sends. It's a rather time-consuming process but at least I'm in touch!

Hope someone can help with this!

Thanks

Bruce

Might need to reformat address May 12, 2005

I also had this issue after installing Norton and I got it to work by accident - if the address of your correspondant is ([email protected]) in round brackets, it needs to be reformatted to in angled brackets. I have no idea why, but it always worked after that without getting stuck in the Outbox. I had to go through my contacts and change them all of course, but it was worth it.
Hope this helps!

PS I found Norton an absolute pain in a number of ways and changed to a different antivirus earlier this year when Norton came up for renewal...

This also happens to me in outlook and I don't have any of the programmes you mentioned installed so it can't have anything to do with that.
What I do is:
Click on the email and press reply to all. It will open in a new window and then press SEND.
That seems to do the trick and then you need to delete the one you couldn't send.
Hasn't happened for sometime but I've no idea why it happens. It would be really interesting to find out though.
All the best,
Sarah
