ha is hectare but what about UK equivalents for 53a and 01ca?

The units are international, even though the metric UK still tends to refer to acres as well — and you could always offer the conversion

hectare = 10,000 m² (100 m × 100 m) = 100 are
are (the base unit) = 100 m² (10 m × 10 m)
centiare = 1 m² (1 m × 1 m) = 1/100th of an are

It would be more natural in the UK to write it as 3.5301 ha, or else 35,301 m²

  -> Thanks, Gordon! I think in purely ùarketing, we wouldn't worry about the odd square meter on the end! Generally, they often prefer the more imprssive sounding 35,000 m², though perhaps more in terms of a buidling than land.
