Is there a way to disable the Insert/Overwrite button in SDL Trados 2019? I would like to use Trados in the Insert mode, but once in a while, I hit the Insert key by mistake and the mode is switched to OVR. To avoid further switching, I would like to know a way to solve this problem.

Hello,
The button is a toggle one. In your case, you have to do it with the Insert key of your keyboard. If using a laptop use Fn + Enter (or Insert).
Hope this helps!

I know how to switch between Insert and OVR. What I wanted to ask was if there is a way to set the either mode permanently (definitely INSERT and not OVR). I know that this is possible in Word. I was wondering if there is a button in the Trados Display where you can set this.

I had this problem too but resolved it by using autohotkey. You can just reassign the insert key to the shift key. The only code you need is Insert::LShift
