Hi all,

There is an 18-question survey on translators and machine translation post-editing work running now. If you have had experience with post-editing work, your input would be greatly appreciated:

https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2W6352W

Thank you!

Jared

Would you agree that the use of machine translation and post-editing is a way to make some types of translation more efficient, allowing translators to focus more on translations where the "human touch" is necessary?

Does this mean "PEMT translation is more efficient, therefore I spend less time on it, and therefore I have more time over for other translations where human touch is necessary", or does this mean "PEMT translation is more efficient, therefore I have more time over to give such translations a human touch, in cases where the human touch is necessary"?

I would say it could mean either or both, depending on the experiences of the respondent. I added a comment section for that question to allow respondents to go into detail if they wish. Thanks!

Results of the survey Feb 26, 2020

Hi Jared,
Since your original posting on this topic was a year ago, I assume the survey is more or less finalized. Is there any way to partake of the results?
Regards,
Mats
