One tag of a pair missing from segment, prevents proper placement Thread poster: Artem Vakhitov

While evaluating CafeTran 2015, I encountered this problem: a source segment contains only one tag of a pair (italic in this case), which prevents me from placing the tags properly in the target. In the first picture, there is only one tag. As you see from the second picture, everything starting from that tag is italicized, while the proper way in this case is to italicize two words only. "Hide segment boundary tags" and "Merge adjacent tags" checkboxes are unchecked. How do I achieve proper tag placement in this situation? | | | 2nl (X) Netherlands Local time: 03:56 See the wiki | Nov 12, 2015 |

Thank you 2nl, The first method didn't help, but the second did. The concern is that this can happen with other tags, not related to basic character formatting, and in that case the second approach won't help either. In the meantime, I've found a more universal workaround covering the latter case, which is to join the offending segment with the next one. The problem is that not all customers like joined segments, if the delivery is in a bilingual format. In addition, you have to remember to do it after you've obtained the match for the second segment, not before. Therefore I would still like paired tags to always reside in the same segment. | | | How is the situation now? | Nov 29, 2018 |
Hi! Has Cafetran's behavior with respect to this issue changed by now? This proved to be a showstopper for me. | |

Hello Artem, For native projects, I don't remember encountering this issue, not lately at least. Is this for external projects? Here are some of the tag-related changes announced since then, as I have aggregated them in the ChangeLog: https://github.com/idimitriadis0/TheCafeTranFiles/wiki/0-ChangeLog 2018 Akua Update 12 (20180901)...
